I'm new to poses and stuff and I decided to run a simple reaction POS. I started with studying this forum and got alot of useful stuff from here. I had some poses in lowsec mining moons, but I never tried reactions.
I knew from manuals that you cannot moon mine in 0.4 and higher, but I did not know you cannot do simple reactions as well. So, I purchased large caldari tower and anchored it in 0.5 system. Then I started anchoring structures leaving simple reactor array FOR THE LAST. I bought missing moon minerals, made alot of hauling of fuel and stuff and finally I clicked "anchor" on Simple Reactor...

What? WTF! Click again... Same message.

Alright.. I calmed down. 4 hours of useless work are gone. I can start over in lowsec, no problem. BUT I NEED COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SETUP for lowsec!
Well.. I was tired and wanted to go to sleep and I did not want the tower to consume fuel, so I emptied fuel storage and logged off.
Next day I realized you cannot unanchor structures with tower offline
*here is the second time fffuuu face comes in*
Alright, I calculated I need fuel for 2 hours to unanchor structures and 1 hour just in case, so I put fuel back, but miscalculated with isotopes (put 1 hour less than needed)
Finally I started unanchoring the last coupling array. 3 minutes left... WTF! Tower is offline!
*here is the third time fffuuu face comes in* I was ready to smash the keyboard agaist the monitor.
Finally I onlined tower and unanchored last structure and the tower itself.
I think I'm done with reaction poses...

Don't give up on it man, you can make Mucho ISKies by getting this running :)
Anyway, (not trolling/flaming) don't be too cheap on things like fuel and such, the ISK you make MORE than covers the extra expenses and saves you from the serious headache you just had.

If only you bothered to showinfo the reactor and look at the "restricted to security level less than 0.4" attribute... or if only would you have bothered to anchor the reactor first...
I find it hard to empathize with a story that basically goes "so I have to walk down this big dark room I never went into, don't turn on the light even if I see the switch by the door, don't have a portable light source on me, and then when almost at the other end, I stub my toe on something, then smash my head on something after jumping up from pain, then slip on something and fall on my ass, biting my tongue from the impact, FUUUUUUUUU".
Makes for a good comedy read though.

I feel you dude, I also made this mistake when dismantling a POS a while ago. I think I was pretty motionless because of FFFFUUUU on my face, and also, the tower was in low-sec. ________________________

Yes, I should do it in first place, but my head was bothered with calculations and math (btw, thank you for nice XLSes - your sheets and guides were indeed helpful)
Of course, I will not give up, just will do it in another day.

Happens to the best of us. I anchored a research POS, all mods and fueled it up THEN went to rent an office in the system only to find there were none available. Had to start the whole process over since you need an office in system to keep your BPO's safe.

Thanks. I have just edited that thread with a big warning in front, hopefully others won't fall prey to the same mistake

Everyone that has delt with pos's has had these situations. There is a very good reason POS's are hated by everyone. Things that will happen to you are as follows.
-You will have a plan for what you want to do for your limited time to play EVE and when you log in you will have notifications from your tower that it is low on resources. You will not have the resources on hand, so instead of doing what you wanted to do you will be hauling pos fuel.
-You will put a structure off line because you wanted to remove it from your POS, it will turn out to not be empty and is one of the structures you can not empty because it is offline. Good-bye 10 minutes.
-You will go on a weeks vacation having tons of fun and come back to the game to discover that when you fueled your POS you forgot an item and the POS went off-line. there is a %20 chance your pos will still have modules when you get back.
-You will set up a reaction late one night and fail to connect jiggery 1 to hoover 2 causing jimmyjam 3 to not get an output but suck up all the materials. You will rage at this and cry because it will be the more expencive material it sucks up and not the cheapo.
Enjoy your POS
