The typhoon
I just never see it and nobody never talks about it, but im guna get it as my first BS and i wanna kno why i nvr see it.
The hyperion
I know this has a prblm, as domi= drones and thron= sniper and as the hyperion is a blaster ship, the size kind of defeats the [purpose of being a blastership. But its good DPS seems like people would use it, and theres mods that make it okay at range... Im pretty much completely wrong there kuz i wuz talking on my phone while typing. Basically, its a blastership thats been pumped up too large. But again, people use blasater cruisers and BC's, so why not BS's?

I am a noob, but the reason i think typhoons are not much discussed is because you need both good missile skills and gunnery skills to effectively fly it.
I know it may be just paper EFT warrioring, but ive seen a nasty typhoon fit on battle clinic if flyed with good SP chars.

The typhoon is a sick beast of destruction. You also need a sick amount of SP to use it properly. Underestimate it at your own peril.

I've never seen a Rag or Hel in game. Seen all the other capital (and super capital) ships.

Rag has been seen. We were almost able to hold it down with a 10 man gang, but it left just before the cavalry arrived.

As mentioned the typhoon can be really effective with a lot of skill points but still tends to suffer from the drawback of all dual platform ships that you need to horribly waste slots to get proper damage mods.
But, the flip side is large. You can fit neuts and _either_ guns or launchers, to taste, or you can massive buffer tank and not worry so much about damage (for instance in rr gang) or really do a lot of different things with the tasty slot layout if you are creative.
It does take some creativity and alternative thinking to be a badass typhoon pilot, but it can be a very fun ship.
As for the Hyperion I think you're on to the basic problem - it is a blaster ship that suffers in the maneuverability department which is critical to blaster ships. But the other problem at least in my experience is that it is best suited for a small-scale type of pvp that is rare to find, and that actually exacerbates the maneuverability issue.

the phoon is fine, a few patches ago you do need a lot of sp to make it work.
nowadays, 5/5 hardpoints changed that. You could just focus on one weapon system and it still pwn ppl asses.
edit: to stay on topic, i would say the all of the rare ships (mimir, opus, state raven etc) lol

Well, I see them every once in a while, mostly with pve people though. Now, if you ignore the armor repper bonus' and fit for shield buffer and go nano's and dmg mods in the lows, the thing is a high dmg output beast. In fact it can actually do a competent shield RR setup. Only problem with the hyp as apposed to the Mega is the lack of the tracking bonus. Otherwise they can be transformed into a beastly fast moving gank ship.

Never seen aeon and vigilant on live server for some reason seen everything else. Flown bellicose myself for moon scanning. Actively flying torp/neut typhoon with fat armor buffer.

The Keres is actually an excellent (but extremely limited) first-strike ship. Locks like an interceptor, points the target from long range, and keeps him from getting a lock back until the big hitter have had to ti get their locks in and can take over both pointing and pounding the poor victim to bitsà at which point the Keres needs to bugger off since it's about 2s away from going pop.

Depends entirely on what you do. 0.0 players obviously will see just about all capital ships once or twice, hi-sec/low-sec players see more of T2 ships of all kinds and more rarer T1 ships. That having been said, I don't think I've ever seen most of Guristas or Serpentis faction ships. Daredevil I think is the only ships of those I've actually seen in use. Might be because they are apparently pricy as heck - isn't Rattlesnake well over a billion just the ship itself?

The Typhoon can do really well even without having both spectacular gunnery and missile skills if you treat it as a ship that has 5 launchers or turrets as a primary weapon system and 3 utility highs for neuts/RR. Even with only 5 weapons it still has the ability to launch 5 heavy drones and still have space in the bay for light drones for anti-frigate work so it's not lacking too much in dps or versatility.
Four mids allows enough for MWD and some tackle plus a cap booster to keep neuts/RR going and seven lows means it's certainly not lacking for tank.
As far as battleships go it's fast as well even plated in a BS fleet you will be the fastest on field. I never liked the Typhoon much on paper when I first looked at it either but for small gangs it's one of the best ships on field as it can deal with so much that comes up.
To the OP, I don't see a lot of Amarr Cruisers in low sec. Omen is haunted by CPU issues and the maller is weak dps with no drones. Arbitrator is the only decent one of the bunch.

Bellicose (its a terrible ship, and i saved myself by not buying it. Then i bought a stabber, and started kicking myself for not getting the rupture. Stabber goes fast, but with big guns it cant even fit a med repper without rigs)
Many gallante, amarr, and caldari frigates (ive seen kestrel, tristain, navitas, and... erm... that amarr frigate u see everywhere... frgt name. But noobfrigs rnt that popular i guess)

hmm here i see the phoon fit as the 6th highest EVAR (filter to allow everything and all fits from all patches)
i myself use a phleet issue phoon for lvl 4s(see what i did thar?  )
when i get skills maxed out and have my deadspace tank and stuff ill be going 500 m/s while doing something like 900 DPS while also being stable and having a 600-ish DPS tank minmum
ANND i only use the 5 launchers slots and drones, the remaining highs are a salvager and 2 tractors, making it a makeshift marauder too
and since im lobbing torps at their faces at point blank and can use my 500 m/s to get there i dont need to worry myself about missing out on some tractor speed/range bonus :P

Ever since the Typhoon's bonuses were changed to double damage, it has been very good. I can't even remember the old bonuses before that. It can pump out over 1200 dps easy, with 30k hardened armor. The 5/5 does make for more people going Torps/utilities (RR or Neuts), but it can still be ganked with full effect.
Since most BS gangs nowadays are RR or gtfo, Hyperions just don't work as well as Megathrons for blaster ships due to it's 8 guns, Local Rep bonus, smaller drone bay, and it's higher cost.
A ship I haven't seen in a while. Wyvern. but besides supercaps...
As previously mentioned EAFs are rarely used.

What, i don't know where or what you're flying or if you're flying at all, but stop posting fail information. Minmatar is the worse choice for your high security PvE shenanigans, so just cross train ASAP. On the side note, this is a pointless thread.

I use a vigil in low sec space... with some rigs and speed mods, it is really REALLY fast, and can tackle and point just about anything.
