I think what really needed is a new objective(s) to challenge the older player base in the game,just like when the game was first released,and everyone started from scratch,had tons of skills to learn,and pretty only a dream that one day,they would see themselves flying a BS...Had a rush when going thru better/bigger ships in those days,precisely because it was due to a lot of work to get there,so you gave it it's due value....Not so today unfortunately.
Simply put,there isn't something out there that lots of the vets in the game can't easily get access to,so the sence of accomplishment isn't nearly as great as it once was...
POS's are nice as a corp level objective,but for those vets that have been playing for 18+ months and likely have in the hundreds lf not billions of isk in assets,it isn't anything that's really needed to ensure their personal survival,just merely something new to try...

thats the main thing..
short term: get skills to fly my zealot finished
med term: get 8 mill sp in gunnery
long term: get good skills for a faction blood raider bs..
and find one to buy and kit with officer modules
as i probably will never do agent missions
