Hey there, I just implemented a simple production: I used a standard pcc and did set up a well working chain. The pcc has 90% powergrid used - so not much more possible. I get 5 coolant per hour or about 120.000 isk per day. After a day the deposits will be depleted so I have to adjust again once a day. Not worth all the work - or am I missing something here?

You are (as of current settings on SISI) absolutely correct. PI isn't profitable and doesn't provide enough to supply all the Poses that are up and running. And if the numbers are the same as they where a week ago all i can say is, they haven't balanced it yet. (i hope)
When it hit's TQ i suspect we will have more resources on planets which leads to higher extraction rates which leads to higher profits. The devs have said so themselves in a blog somewhere.
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

they have said so in Sisi, and on the forums as well. Bascialy the Values you see now are, frankly, placeholders (given that you make a Controll tower with things like planetary Vehicls and geneticaly modifed livestock I kind of doubt it will go live like that because otherwise you can legitimatly say the developers have us playing Tenage Mutant Voltron assembleing Pigs in Space. . . and hopefully they dont intend to go there!

You're missing the fact that the price of things will change, possibly dramatically, because it will now be player-made instead of created out of nowhere and sold for set prices by NPCs.
Whether it'll be worth the effort, no one knows, but you can't make profit calculations based on current prices for any of this stuff.

no one has confirmed anything about anything!
For all we know, PI will be a secondary way of retrieving npc items; a way for us to get them at a discount. NPC items may not ever be able to completely be removed from the market due to the extensively boring nature of PI.

Just because you find PI boring doesn't mean everybody will find it boring and even if my initial stance on PI was that it would be extremely boring i have altered that stance because at present these points makes me feel it's gonna be a nice side thing:
- Once you plopped down your Control Center you can control it from anywhere in the eve universe, not having to actually be there to control it.
- The small volume (in m¦) of tier 2/3 stuff produced means you can go in with a cov ops to fetch the stuff you produce making it easy to ninja in lowsec.
- It doesn't take much time to set up a working network. If only balancing will make it profitable it's definitely doable.
- You only need to check on your planet once every day or once every 4 days. (Possibly going to change into even more options later on.)
Those points alone, if they make it profitable, means i could see myself doing PI on a daily basis. Even if it isn't a lot of isk behind it i would be fine with 10 mil per day as it currently takes me 30 minutes to get a planet started and then just 5 minutes to update the extractors after that.
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

I've succesfully setup chain for robitics and such, and use 24 hour feeds. After 24 hours you just rescan, and submit. No new costs involved, since you don't move your extractors (ie destroy and build new).
I get enough Robotics to feed 12 posses per month, or in my case, enough to feed my 3 posses and sell the rest. Initial costs are high, but every resource I use depletes in 111 years !!! So I just have to go to the extractors daily, rescan, and can do this for 111 years, without additional costs.

Is it going to cost zero to run?
Will we only have to purchase the command centers? ------

The PCC is the only market item youll be paying for, but as you add stuff to the colony, each item adds its cost to the list, and you get deducted when you hit submit to get em all built. theres also a tax man going up and coming down from orbit _________________________________

We are everywhere.
Atm setting up a L3 colony (w/e the CC is that requires skill rank 3) will run about 3mil NOT including the cost of the CC. If the costs and output don't change from what they are on Sisi you'd need to run the colony for at least a month just to break even.
Reckon that things will change though.
