Back when I was mining alot (about 1 1/5 year ago) I made bookmarks in asteroid belts so I was close to the roids.
I took a half year break and when I returned and went to do some mining, almost none of the bookmarks were at asteroid fields. Most were about 100-300k KM off of where they originally were.
Thought it was odd but did nothing with it : / ----------------------------------------------- But then again I cant really approve of any of this because this is my signature |

This is off-topic, but I will share my experience. When I was in 0.0 and mining a lot, I liked clearing belts. But one belt in the particular system I mined in was always empty. Well, when warping to this belt I always noticed asteroids appearing on sensors for a brief second right before landing then they disappeared as I landed. Well, I tried to MWD in the direction they were in with a fast inty but I could never find them (I don't think you can scan them down?).
So I petitioned a GM to fix it but the response was something along the lines of (paraphrased horribly from memory) "It is normal. When asteroids spawn it is possible for their position to change or drift. These asteroids have drifted off grid." Totally flabbergasted by the "awesome" response, I meh'd and went about my way.
As for the op - No, nothing orbits the sun(s).

Interestingly, I happen to know some EVE Lore and in the very early days the planets did orbit the sun. It was too much work for the programmers so they stopped that. Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? They arenĘt built for this! Clear Skies - The Movie

This. However, you might want to consider a few things, first of all; I now have one of those annoying sigs. second; you should probably move on to some more interesting things than reading this sig.

Nah, they donĘt. It does not matter anyway since most orbits take many decades to complete. EVE in 7 years old. Perhaps the moons could and should be made to orbit their planets?
The following statement is not my signature. The preceding statement is my signature. |

Ever seen a jello with fruit pieces in it? That is basically New Eden.
But for the record, I only changed my sig because I was annoying myself with the last one.
