..On my phone, forgive the mistakes. What would be the best setup for a Caldari bs pilot and a Minnie bs pilot for lvl fours? Thanks for your time and replies!

..For a duo on the same mission? Wouldn't two high gank ships be better? And we wouldn't be looting/salvaging much, if any. Just blitzing.
My first thought would be Raven/Phoon. Would a Raven/Mach be a stupid combo?
Thanks for your replies!

What sort of skills/budget/mission rats are we looking at? Best case scenario probably a machariel and a CNR/golem. Have the caldari pilot work on the battleships while the mach cleans up the little stuff. Mach will swat frigs/cruisers as fast as it can target them. At least against angels/serpentis/mercs. Minny ships dont like rats that stay at range.

..Skills/budget is sufficient, and what rats are up for debate. What I'd like to see is first what is the most optimal setup for a Caldari pilot and a Minnie pilot to blitz through level fours.
Tengu/Raven/CNR-Phoon/Temp/Mael/Mach?
Thanks for your replies!

Thing is, golem and vargur are not only the best soloships, they're also the ones punching out most damage for their kind.(which is why they're making the best solo ships int he first place). However, all that said, there's two really good alternatives to the golem. CNR and tengu. The CNR because you now have not only a secondary ship to do all tanking for you, leaving you lots of mids for target painters, but you can even let the other ship bring a good web or painter themselves allowing you to go torps for the missions where they are appropiate and be better of than with a golem(Thanks to the extra range(or compensate the lost bonus with a flare) and rate of fire). The tengu is sort of the same thing, it's even slower than the CNR for solo, but it decreases the overhead(see next paragraph). In the best of worlds you'd have 3 or even 4 ships setup for each possible mission(Yes, a ship setup specificly for every single mission would be even better.)
Being two and entirely ignoring loot however changes things a bit. Mainly because missile ships in general will be really bad. When doing missions you can pretty easily score some 150-175m an hour, if it wasn't for all the logistics and overhead. Sadly, you will have to warp around to missions and evne in missions, you will have to slowboat to gates and restock on ammo or refit. This cuts your income severely.
Now if you're two, the manhours wasted on overhead exactly doubles. However, the missioncompletion times will not half. This antibiosis can really only be avoided by putting each ship in seperate missions, running them individually. With that said... there are exceptions.
Sansha missions. Their tracking disruptors can reduce income of the vargur. Best option is to swap missions with the golem, Hoping they're in the same system. Leave the golem with torps as usual and have the vargur remove distant targets. If there are multiple spawns putting a cloak on the vargur is a good idea, if the mission is really long range and with respawns(Blockade for example) a Cruise CNR and arty vargur would be better. Same with tengu.4b44444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444 Parrots, commence!

Cruise missile Raven and Cruise missile Typhoon would probably be the best. Raven fit six cruise missile launchers, Typhoon fit five. You can even bring two Typhoons since Typhoon is about 20 mil cheaper and Caldari character can still take advantage of their missile skills.

Gurista: Sort of same as sansha, with two realistic options. Tengu is a bit faster than gollem and cnr as for some reason it wont jam you as much(For some unapparant reason). Typhoon can carry fof cruise and drones assigned to the other ship.
NPC TD's dont affect falloff. So the vargur is the best turret ships against sanshas.
for Guristas I ussually use a dominix since i can use a couple of midslots for eccm and get some immunity to jamming.

..First off thank you NoNah and everyone else who took the time to reply. Secondly, this really throws a wrench into the works. Let me ask a question: If the two toons in question were shallow on SP's, duoing the missions would yield a higher income then if they were off on their own soloing missions. But at the point when each toon is properly skilled, the gain of extra firepower does not outweigh the overhead?
Thanks a ton for all your info!

I will shortly be flying a rattlesnake paired with a tempest. I intend for the rattlesnake to be main tank, and to deal with all the frigates and cruisers using drones, cruise missiles, and a target painter. Meanwhile the tempest whales on battleships with artillery. Thats the plan, anyway. I'll see how it works out when I get my rattlesnake pilot trained. EKT Website |
