Running two monitors - the idea being the 16:10 will have up and the 16:9 video to keep me entertained while my drones do all my work for me. However, interacting with the media player on the second monitor in any way causes even to minimize out (seeing as I'm playing in full-screen).
Any idea if there's a way to make eve ignore whats going on with the second desktop?

Sadly, can't be done with fullscreen. You need to play in windowed mode. Pick a client resolution ever so slightly below your desktop resolution (at least vertically), and reposition it so it looks almost like full-screen.
P.S. I stopped playing EVE in fullscreen over 3 years ago. I never went back, and I don't regret it one bit. I even started to play several other games in windowed mode, if they support it, and lately I prefer windowed mode for almost anything.

EVEMon can reposition windowed EVE so that it is indistinguishable from fullscreen. -

Damn, now that is useful. Thanks!

Yeah, I use a program called Eve Windowed Mode Helper (EWMH) that does the same thing.

You don't need a stupid program for this. Just do what Akita T said and set the resolution of the EvE window as close as you can to your screen resolution, move it around and eye ball it. It pretty much indistinguishable.

Yes, but a window positioning utility saves your the aggravation of having to reposition the window every time you start Eve.

YMMV on this ...
I've got 4 computers right now that will play the game and ... I have entirely mixed results on using windowed mode. Using Windowed mode tends to run slower than running full screen so how well it works can depend on what it is in the game you want to do.
If you've got a brand new, top of the line system - yeah ... you've not going to have a problem but the older your system gets - and - the worse your video card ... the more problems you will have.
One of the problems I've had is that at certain resolutions - I cannot run a second copy of EVE at that resolution. The graphics card just can't do it ... so I end up having mixed resolutions and ... I believe I had to have two copies of the game installed. Either both windows had to be set to a lower resolution or one of them was at the good resolution and one at the bad.
So ... I mostly run full screen and Alt-Tab ... or ... just use separate computers. The trouble with using multiple computers is ... heat. I've got a number of variables here ... so ... there are times I really have to think about just what it is I want to do - and what computer/room/cooling configuration I'm able to use to do it with.
