eddie valvetino Caldari Bi-Polar Bears	Posted - 2010.05.14 12:56:00 - [1] Hello Real people of the New Eden Cluster Over the past couple of days, I have somehow, with wanting to become suck in a war of words (and soon to be a war of bullets) with a group of role players. Some of which seem like pretty stand up guys... others... well I wonder what they do when there mums tell them it's bedtime, do role players dream in character? This is a pretty new thing for me in eve, I have never really seen Eve as a RP game, just more as "hahahaha we blowed you s**t up dude" kinda thing. Anyway, I have noticed that many of these RP chaps do like to moan, cry and whine, which made me wonder, amoungst the REAL players of eve, our pirate mates. 0.0 lovers and mercs, what do you think is sweeter, the tears of a role player or the tears of a carebear. Both can be fierce, both can be prolonged and both are epicly funny to watch. just wondering, what your thoughts are Eddie (omg did you just write an RP thread... please shoot me) Valvetino (\_/) (O.o) (> <)

I think I prefer carebear tears, there is just nothing quite like destroying months of work, followed by a complete and utter meltdown in local or via evemail. I think my favorite tears were some given to a ninja where he was told, "I hope you live to see your children die". That is why I play this game.

Generally speaking I've grown tired of tears and their supposed value. These days the posting of anything at all in local is greeted with "MOAR TEARS CAREBEAR". Whatever about the intellect within the game the wit and humour that used (occasionally) be displayed in local has gone right out the window and can now be found less and less anywhere in the game imo. A lot like supposed 'trolling', these days posting any kind of substandard ****ed ** can be followed with "I TRULLED U HAHAHAHA"

Pirates and mercs are roleplayers unless of course they go to work in the daytime with an eye patch and a parrot on their shoulder singing yo ho ho and abottle of rum in which case again I apolagise.

Please do not war-dec us. We wouldn't know what to do if even the asteroids started shooting back. Can't we settle this through robust dialog and withering stares? Can't you see that the Amarr are to blame for this? All those years I was forced to serve in their 'Pleasure Pits' as a child... You can't really hold us responsible for that, can you? :(

What you are describing are whines not tears. Tears are tasty, whines are just annoying.

Huh? So I also play Halo 3 online, but I am not a real life space aged Spartan, so by your logic anyone that plays any multiplayer game on the internet is an RP'er. I think you don't understand what an RP'er is and isn't. Nothing against RP'ers per se, unless they are the LARPing types of course. These people have for years sabotaged their preferred way of playing by ruthlessley and mindlessly killing everything and anything that passes in to the lowsec system they call home, no matter how much or little money they can make from it, which has caused lowsec to be seen as the plague, and avoided as such by all. And now they're crying about it, whining about how hisec carebears should be forced into lowsec, how hisec should be removed altogether and the game should just be varying degrees of lawlessness, etc. These type of tears are very much my favourite.

I think I really must agree with this post. Pirate tears are the sweetest of all. Especially when their arguement boils down to, "HEY THAT'S NOT FAIR!!!" Also tears from Pies who dec non-pie corps and then cry about the way they fight.

I would never criticize someone for attacking us in force, as any list of good tactics has to include simply outnumbering your target. Small engagements (1v1/2v2) are still way more fun though, and much better for getting the heart pumping.
