I know ivy league get war dec'd all the time by pvp corps looking to have fun. I was passing throught ALDRAT last night ivy leagues home system when i saw a large gate camp so i stopped to have a look to see who it was. 32 ships belonging to IVY LEAGUE , me being a little nosey i looked up who had war dec'd them and found something interesting IVY LEAGUE have war dec'd a small mining corp called ROIDS 'R' US now i thought ivy league was a non aggression training alliance for new eve players , can someone tell if ivy league have now changed from a non aggression alliance to an alliance that now war dec's some mining corps that cant defend them selves. i ask the question because i am part of a small mining corp from the area and am a little worried about ivy league war dec'in other mining corps . Is this the first ever war dec ivy league have done or can some one from any other corps that ivy league have war dec'd shed some light on this post

You can usually find a gang of them flying around Heimatar and surrounding. Looks to be just roaming training.

As long as you're not Amarr and you don't smack them in forums, you'll be fine.

Edited by: Liang Nuren on 14/05/2010 23:18:34 All I know is that Eve-University has been sending late night 20-70 man BS gangs down through Metropolis for the last month or two. They tend to run from 10 man BS gangs even though they have a 7:1 advantage...

You should know that fleet command is one of the things IVY teaches. I ran a fleet a time or two myself when I was attending.
Should the standing FC decide not to engage, they don't. That could be for a variety of reasons, and cowardice is only one. They could be looking for someone in particular. They could be looking for a particular kind of fight to pick.
Hell, they could have been practicing moving in fleets through "hostile" territory WITHOUT getting into engagements or breaking up. Don't tell me that's a useless thing to practice. Sure, you might have been after some pew-pew, but not everyone is at all times. Don't be so selfish.

Not that many - I'd estimate 80-90% were in battleships and battlecruisers. On the average roam I see these days, there's probably 20% frigs and half of those are T2?

Eve uni is just a mega blob corp at this point. They roam low sec ganking anything they can get. I'd class them as a pirate corp now but pirates generally try to turn a profit off of pvp. So their more of a griefer corp if there is such a thing in eve. I wouldn't be surprised if they started war decing every pathetic little missioner runner/industrial corp in their area.
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Mmm hmm. That might be what it looks like to people with -5 sec status when they fly around in the path of a fleet op. You flash red? You die. Protip: you brought it on yourself for ganking in hisec.
And others, please note the date on that post. Spoiler: April 1st.

Hi everyone. CEO of E-UNI & IVY here, so I can probably answer the queries posed.
First of all, yes, we have declared war on a corp. We recieved a wardec from one particular party, and a third party was providing material and aid to them. This makes them a valid target for us, hence the wardec.
No, we haven't changed from a neutral, NRDS group. If you are -5.0 sec status or below, or have previously engaged our members whilst neutral, then you will have standings applied and are then a valid target for our members in losec and nullsec - anyone with that status is of course free to contact our diplomats to discuss a NAP.
This is not the first declaration of war we have made, nor will it probably be the last - many people confuse neutrality (non-involvement with other groups) as pacifism (dislike of combat) - and while we are neutral and take no interest in the affairs of others, we can and will defend ourselves.
For anyone thinking we are full of newbies, while they make up a significant proportion of our membership, we do have more than a few graduates and teaching staff, and we promote losec/nullsec trips for PvP during both war and peacetime - our killboard should make that fairly clear.
Finally... Shad, please, more punctuation, capitals, and try paragraphs from time to time - it really does make things easier to read. _____

Shad: I just looked up your quite extensive killboard record. And I congratulate you, miner to miner, on never once having lost a mining ship of any description. That's quite a feat.
It's also amazing that you, a simple peaceful miner, have gotten so many recent kills in conjunction with the U.K. Freedom Fighters. Again, congratulations.
