Works even better than in Ubuntu 9.10 for me. There is no need to disable the internet connection while starting it, or to edit config files or do any sort of sound hacks. It just works.
Here is what I did:
1. Download the Eve Setup file (the 2 GB file currently named EVE_Premium_Setup_127381_m.exe) from http://www.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1 (they call it the "offline installer".
2. Get winetricks and type "winetricks corefonts" into a terminal so the Windows fonts are downloaded to your wine install (this is to get past the EULA text).
3. Run Eve from shortcut in Applications -> Wine menu.
My current versions of relevant software:
local/nvidia 195.36.15-2
NVIDIA drivers for kernel26.
local/wine 1.1.44-1
A compatibility layer for running Windows programs
local/winetricks 20100424-1
Script to install various redistributable runtime libraries in Wine.

I did the same and it works flawlessly here as well. I had some fullscreen issues, but that was due to using Xmonad as a window manager.

Ive been planning to try xmonad at some point... will probably do it in a virtual machine first. :)

:D Nice work i am another arch user that has it working flawlessly on my machine exept my netbook it hhas a bad habbit of crashing at the charicter selection screen and i tried all the stuff on the winehq and gave up lol
but on all my other machine it runs awesome

Guess who be back in a limited sorta' way? :-D
Running Arch as well as primary system, and I did even less than Jim to get things rolling...and I'm using arch 64.
I just copied the ttf fonts to the wine drive fonts directory and ensured they had my user permissions.
I'm playing with pulse audio so having a few issues with sound + other application sound, but EVE runs just fine. No need even to rename the jukebox. Just click 'stop' on the mini applet and everything just worked.
Ubuntu is a nice distro for the community and such, but I'm sold on Arch. Stiffer learning curve, but oh my it does what ya' want, and does it well!

Yep, now that Ubuntu is becoming mainstream, its fun to run something else for a while and compare it to Ubuntu. Arch has been working great on my machine.
I really like that Arch have no 6 months updates where you need to install everything all over again (because the Ubuntu distro update from one version to another usually has its fair share of problems, just like the Windows upgrade option usually do). I plan to have Arch on this machine for a couple of years now. Linux doesnt get slower with time and doesnt need re-installing unless you run into something that messes up your system completely.
Its like they say... distro-hoppers have a tendency to stick with Arch once they try it.. :)

Yeah....but...this happens IF THEY STICK TO THE WIKI at the start. heh heh.
I like that Arch is what I want it to be rather than someone else's idea of what I want. Its definitely more of a 'curve', but after learning that curve, the "kiss" mind set really DOES make it a much easier and snappier system.
Now if only wine and the pulseaudio folks would get their heads outta their arses and get wine up to snuff with pulseaudio, I'd be happy. :-/
(Yes yes I know the pro/con arguments about PA, but I use it for some stuff on my home network that makes life lots easier for the home theatre stuff, so tis' necessary.)
