I've heard that certains overseers can spawn (both in the guristas and serpentis base). Now, the high bounty overseers are said to drop good loot. Now, I've gotten a few overseers, but never any of high value. What are the chances of getting good spawns?

I've not seen anything interesting from an overseer to date, having run that mission many times over the last few years.

Chance on an Overseer isn't 100%, next to that it has to be one with a somewhat better bounty on it.
The sub 1 million ISK ones the chance of dropping anything worthwhile is negligable.
The sub 2 mill ones the chance of any faction item is still not really that high.
Now the Overseer that can spawn and is 2 mill+ can get interesting.
Not that there always has to be some reasonable gear dropping, lot of times you'll be lucky to get 1000 large faction ammo and a tag.
But don't dispaer, there is always the very very slim chance that something actually worthwhile drops, This happens most likely on the 4.7 mill ones.
Best drop I have had lately was a Vindicator BPC and some shadow serpentis gear.
The dread guristas I haven't seen any big Overseer for quit a while.
p.s.
Overseers don't always spawn right away, sometimes they can take as long as several hours before they spawn. Your choice to gamble on a fatter one spawning and dropping something worthwhile or not.
Suggestion might be have 2 or more lvl 4 agents close to eachother to run missions for, get a World's Collide and after clearing all don't hand in yet but head to the other agent(s) and run some mission(s) for them and go check the WC from time to time to look if one spawned.
This is just an option if you want to gamble.

My first day in my corp and maybe my second week in the game I was salvaging the lvl 4 collide mission and the overseer wreck dropped 3 shadow something mods and a vindicator bpc.

Unless the ship type is True Sansha xxx ( or equivalent ) don't expect anything. Those will also have a 4m+ bounty, if you don't have that overview column particularily visible.
Not seen one for a long long time now. I used to farm that mission a year ago, got maybe one faction overseer a week; that chance has seemingly disappeared now.

I run that mission a lot when I can, I farm it for as long as it lasts and turn it in on the 7th day. Most of the time no overseer spawns. I has 3 times for me of about 30 and once it dropped a 10 mil isk item and the other times it dropped crapola. This is clearly a signature. |

When i was "farming" sansha/angel wc, i always got the overseer in both pockets - only it sometimes took 30+ activations of the gate. Got some faction ammo, faction mods, few pirate implants and nightmare bpc. But i think generaly it isnt worth to "farm overseer" /activate gate till you get one/, because most /id say 90%/ will be low bounty without any faction mods.

Well they drop not bad if the drop. As some posters above said it takes hours... ITS A LIE. Just take a shuttle hop in out (LOOP) until he spawns. Its not a timeframe. Its just a chance he appears when you warp in. Except the rare drops he has a nice bounty (15mio i guess)

Sometimes you will get overseer right from the start, sometimes you need to activate acc gate 30 times... your decision if you want to spend your time approaching and activating acc gates.

In 0.0 versions of WC(for Angel missions it's Sansha/Gallente) the overseer with faction loot is present almost every time on empire side, but it varies in size, often it's just a frigate

Best thing i got from Worlds collide was a serpentis tracking comp which got me a pretty penny. This was the only realy major drop i got from this mission. Every other overseer i get is the low value one with no loot.

Almost 9 out of 10 of the Worlds Collide missions I get in .2 systems and lower have faction spawns in them, and they are always there before the general NPC spawn. Warp into the room and bam!, there they are. Loot does indeed vary, but there is always something worth selling.

Quite a few months back way before apocrypha, somewhere around Rens, I did a level 1 Worlds Collide against Angel Cartel/Sansha Nation. I think my frigate died horribly in the second Sansha room, so I went through the Angel one and killed a tough rat which dropped one Domination Photon Scattering Field.
On the other hand, I did a large numbers of Level 4 version of said mission in the past year, and not once did I get anything from overseers.

Overseer for both sides of a WC can but is not guaranteed to spawn based on time; sitting around in the pocket he spawns in for a few hours may cause him to spawn arbitrarily.
Overseer will spawn if you reenter the pocket in question enough times; how many attempts is required as well as what ship type/size is most likely to cause this to happen is completely unknown and/or random. We've had the overseer spawn on as few as two attempts and as many as 100+ attemps. This is guaranteed to eventually cause it to spawn.
There are 5 (five) ranks of Overseer.
1. Normal BS Rat. Has the same 'type' as a low-mid level battleship of that faction and a 300-600k bounty. 2. Captain BS Rat. Has the same 'type' as a mid-high level battleship of that faction and a 500-800k bounty. 3. Commander BS rat. Has the same 'type' as a low-level 'faction' level battleship and a 1-1.5mil bounty. Has the same chance to drop some faction items as a low-level 'faction' level battleship of its type and to yield T2 salvage components. 4. Commander BS rat. Has the same 'type' as a high 'faction' level battleship and a 2.5-5.5mil bounty. Has the same chance to drop some faction items as a high-level 'faction' level battleship of its type and to yield T2 salvage components. 5. Officer BS rat. Has the same 'type' as a high 'faction' level battleship, but a 6.5-13.5mil bounty. Has the same chance to drop high-level faction items as an officer rat of the faction, but will not drop officer loot. May drop faction cruiser/battleship and POS tower/module blueprint copies. May yield T2 salvage.
I've encountered a single of 5 personally, many of 3-4 and countless 1-2. I've run roughly 80-100 Worlds Collide 'respawns' for the Brutor Navy.
Make of the info what you want, I don't particularly care, personally. :) ---

Not a shuttle, that's terrible. Interceptor is not only much faster, but if you've cleared the room already you can kill the overseer with it, at least if it's a Taranis. Also AF works with higher dps, or failing that a fast, gankfit cruiser. All of them (can be made) much faster then a shuttle.

Plus the shuttle while being slow can't kill an overseer.
About 1/10 overseers in lvl 4 hisec missions will be higher bounty with T2 salv. As said, many only have a tag and faction ammo and no faction modules. Often the T2 salv will be metal scrap or empty wreck. From memory, T2 wreck will need salvaging 4 to salvage. I did farm WC4 a few times and collected over 30 odd faction modules. For the time spent, better to run/blitz missions than farm WC4 in hi-sec as its much better isk. Of the faction modules I had one overseer drop 3 faction modules worth about 80 mil (about 5 mil bounty) but mostly they are 1-2 mil each and useless pieces that you wont want - is better to make isk and buy what modules you really want.

lol... if the overseer is going to spawn, it will do so whether you're waiting there or not. The amount of warp ins and outs do not make nay difference either barring, probably, the initial warp in to create the deadsapce pocket and the run through the mission.
If you're farming it, go back just before downtime. You'll generally find an overseer waiting there for you, all by his lonesome. I generally get him 4/5 out of 7 by doing this although you'll be lucky to get anything over 1m!

There seams to be a chance of an overseer spawn if use the warp gates in the 1st pocket, ie warping in/out may spawn an overseer. Often if have several ships use the gates, the more ships gives more spawns - ie traffic through the gates.
Hence the common practice of using a faster ship and cycling through the gates in hope of an overseer.
Going back to the mission just before down time will help for a time based spawn but I'm sure its more than just that triggering overseers. My experience doing that was while more chance of an overseer going back to the mission just before downtime, it was still much less than cycling through the gates where one could get close on 2 overseers per day WC4 was available. 7 days allows 8x runing and could get up around 15 overseers of which around 1/10 had faction stuff (could be as little as ammo/tag).
Also noticed that if you destroyed the structure in the 2nd pocket it seamed to kill the overseer spawning. It might be just bad luck, but the few times I shot it and destroyed it, I had no overseers. Given I was getting about 15/16 spawns per wc4 over the 7 days I think there is a link of the structure and no overseers even if my sample size was small of about 5 structs destoryed for no overseers that runing.

Just out of curiosity, I ran WC after reading this thread.
No spawns on either base on first arrival. Cleared both rooms and research outpost (left 1 BC alive, so the mission won't complete). After that I salvaged the rooms, no spawns (second jump to both rooms). After that I just entered the bases, no spawns, warp-out and repeat. About 7th warpin to gurista base, officer spawn, dock to station to get raven and back to the room. Officer was 3,75M bounty which dropped some DG ammo and DG armor resistance amp. (bleh 5M). Dock up to get fast ship again, and blam, spawn in serpentis base, unfortunately 500k spawn with normal t1 loot.
So all in all, I did get spawn after I repeatedly entered the rooms. Even though, that's not an evidence that entering was the key, might as well be time triggered... |

I guess I was really lucky yesterday night, first time I have properly ran level 4 worlds collide and upon entering the Sansha base, about 15 seconds later an overseer spawned right next to me, it had a 2.3m bounty and dropped a True Sansha hardener. |

Sit an alt in the room & do your warp cycles, you'll see it spawns on a warp-in every time.

i have no idea if its the same with 0.0 and highsec WC missions but.
Ive done like 30-50 WC's in stain (sansha) and every single mission ive seen an overseer except 1 or 2.
however ive NEVER gotten any "GOOOOOOD" loot only 3% implants and such, but ive done a few along with other ppl, and THEN we have gotten loot worth up to 500 mill worth, best one was 3 mods and 2 implants. both implants were 5% ones. if i remember, got TS heat sink, + 2 other modules.
Howevers you can bypass the first stage by haveing zibokis hacker card in your cargo that way you "unlock" the first gate.
Then in 2nd stage ive gone straight for the gate, gotten aggro from missile battery, blood spy, 2 frigs and the overseer, killed the overseer slowboated to the gate while tractor beaming the overseer wreck looted and warped through the gate, on the other side i allmost allways get bumped hillariously much while locking the armory and then single volley it then just warp off. (but ofc align straight away after exiting warp.
p.s. that best loot ive found was from a 92xk or 1.1 mill Cruiser rat.

Just chiming in with my experiences :)
~The Overseer seems to spawn on warp in, whether its the first time you do it or the 5th time you warp in, just keep trying :) ~I only had one everyday (or I am too impatient to go for a second one, but I think its limited to 1 each day) ~The Overseers with 500k till 1 mill never dropped anything good for me, and usually are empty wrecks ~Best Overseer I had was a 3.5 mill Dominix model (Last week actually), it dropped a bundle of faction ammo, an armor plating and a tag :)
Not entirely worth it but I like the suspense and surprise, like a lottery ^^
Commong Tip: Have multiple World Collides missions open so you can try your luck a few times :) (I currently have two open)

not sure if anyone has mentioned it in the post or not but if get to the overseer room and he's not there ... you get a ship to go out and come through the gates again, if he doesn't spawn, do it again and again ... I've done it up to 5 times and it makes him spawn ... but sometimes it can take more, I've heard of guys having to do it a few more times but it does work and he does spawn

The first time I ran it (and it was my 2nd or 3rd L4 ever) I got 7 million bounty overseers in both pockets. Both dropped faction items and blueprints.
That was about a year and a half ago, and while I've seen overseers since then, never a 7M one and I've never gotten any faction gear.

So yeah prolly a bit of luck and persistance is needed.
i usually mission at times i want some extra cash or LP for modules, so no big deal for me... but for the dedicated missioners i can asume it's a pita if they need to jump dozens of times in and out to get one spawn... even more if they get the sub-mil ones

It's a timer...
Unless I get an Overseer the second time I activate the gate 4/5 times out of 7 days.
How does that fit with "spam the gate activation" or "warp in and out repeatedly till it spawns"? If that was the case, then how do I get such a high spawn rate?

Just accepted and have started running a L4 WC, Blood & Angels.
I'm reading a pretty even mix of contradictory reports in this thread; half say it's based on time and the others say it's based on the number of times you warp in and out.
So, as objectively as I can;
Going to proceed into the first room and kill everything, and then go and fetch a shuttle (in-system) and run through the gate 10-20 times. If no Overseer spawn appears in that time, I will then leave the mission alone for 1-2 hours and come back afterwards to see if there's any good news.
Will update this -------- ¦ |

Also i dont think its a timer cause I've had the Overseer spawn everytime in both rooms just by running a shuttle through the gates with a ship sitting in the room until the overseer spawns. This mission still remains to be one of the easiest missions to farm cause of the faction mods dropped. I had it on both chars I use for running L4 missions at the same time so I farmed both of them for the whole week. And the Overseer spawned in both missions on both sides ... took abit of time to get him to spawn but sometimes he was there when i got into the room the first time ... it is just luck and the math of CCP
