Turvanius	Posted - 2010.05.16 08:51:00 - [1] Hey ya'll, now I know this is posted millions of times per second but I'm having trouble working out my fit for a nullsec ratter. I would appreciate no replies along the lines of "Stop using Caldari" or "Get a Raven" as I have skills for Caldari but not enough skills (nor iskies) to be using a Raven. I just checked my fit in EFT now, I can effectively fit: Ballistic Control System II * 4 Shield Recharger II * 3 Large Shield Extender II * 2 Invulnerability Field II Heavy Missile Launcher II * 6 Medium Core Defence Field Purger I * 3 Warrior I * 5 I just have some questions about this however... Is the 4th BCS worth it? EFT shows it giving an extra 10/15 DPS but there are pretty much no other fits using it. I could drop 2 of them and get a PDS so I could fit the last HML II as well. At the moment my biggest hurdle is DPS, with the above I can hit around 230 DPS ish. Will this fit have enough tank for nullsec Angel ratting? I've tried a fit very similar (heck it's a Drake, most everything is passive fit) and I could take just about everything. The only spawns that even came close to breaking armor were dual Nephilims. Also: Which is preferable, the Invulnerability Field II or an Explosive hardener/resistance amplifier. Thanks for all your time.

If you can't use a T2 item sue the T1 or named variant. Start your drake ratting fit like this: 7x HML II 3x Ballistic Control II And work from there.
Wet Ferret	Posted - 2010.05.16 10:11:00 - [4] For angels? 2 invulns, 1 thermal/EM hardner (don't recall how often EM rats show up in belts), 2 large shield extenders, AB Get 7 launchers by any means, drop to 2 BCUs if needed. Put SPRs in extra low slots (use best named). But for the record, I only changed my sig because I was annoying myself with the last one.

Missm Uppet Caldari	Posted - 2010.05.16 14:14:00 - [7] Turvan - Drakes are very good to rat with, especially if you can fit t2 missiles (in which case you'll probably want a target painter on the ship). Fire kinetic missiles as the drake gets bonuses for them and angels are still pretty weak to I. Damage power if the drake is going to depend heavily on your skills of course. Great ship for the job. To the guy asking about Em/therm. I don't remember exactly but I think the saints and the neph's might be the ones that are fairly heavy Em DMG dealers. Check one of the NPC rat databases to be sure.

Or just drop the salvager altogether. And yeah, it's missing that third BCU II; I feel bad about that. Sometimes, though, cap stability is just neat.
Turvanius	Posted - 2010.05.17 06:41:00 - [10] Haha yeah, I found out the hard way how bad it is to have a huge signature when a Vagabond came in and wafflepwnd me after a 1 or 2 second lock. Feels bad man. Just one last question, would HAM IIs be a better option if I were to also fit a MWD? I could train them in time I guess, atm I have been focusing on Heavy Missiles but I'd have to train HAMS some time.
