Had a random thought....
would be fun to try a nano shield fleet made up of
2 Onyx 2 Broadsword 1 Ganglink Vulture ( Siege + info link - ewar strength) 1 Ganglink Claymore ( Skirmish + info link - sensor strength) 2 Hugin 2 Curse 2 Rook 2 Lachesis 2 Scimitars 2 Basilisk ( 3 energy, 3 Shield) 2 Mach 2 Bhaalgorn ( full rack of neuts) 1 Vinicator 2 NH 2 Sleipnir 5 AB/Med sheild extender/Dramiel
They can all be fit to go 2k+ m/s ( and still be sensible fits) the NH's and Sleip's have projected ECCM for the Logistics
Dramiels are the main tacklers and got 3.5km/s with a tiny sig (5km/s with heat)
The amount of DPS for this fleet is huge, considering they also have lots of Ewar, and Speed to avoid hot drops. everything has 40k + ehp ( except dramiel) so the logistics has a decent chance to keep everyone up
stupidly stupid? or a good idea?

Edited by: SirRalph on 16/05/2010 19:02:20 I would take 32 navy megas with against your 32 ship fleet anytime. Would end in draw most likely.

Well, Eve is like Rock-Paper-Scissor.
Here you have a third of each...
Homogeneous fleets tend to work better, although they need to avoid some kind of other homogeneous fleets.
shield tanked Bhaalgorn and Vindicator look like a bad idea.

One day I'd like to see a fleet composed of nothing else but Macheriels (or Nightmares or Bhaalgorns) fly into combat.
Properly fitted, such a fleet would make most other fleets scream like girls and run. I know I would. _______________________

for solo, i would agree, but in a nano gang a 8 heavy neut bhaalgorn going 2k/s is a scary thought. esp in a gang like this it easily reaches 130kehp without overloading

I'd like to see a fit. How can you achieve such tank AND speed AND dual cap booster AND use its web bonus ?
And you didn't reply about the Vindicator.

oops sorry lol my bad.
as for the fit, only single cap booster as there are also basi's with spare LET's

^ i never said the fit was cheap
with snakes,ee8, mindlinked claymore and vulture
ehp:127,669 speed: 1936m/s align: 7.3s cap: all but mwd -90.6/+85.6,
lasts ~15 mins just by its self, with a single LET it is stable (without mwd) without using its cap booster at 41%
Quote: And you didn't reply about the Vindicator
it becomes a fast, very heavy hitter, 1500dps, 2k/s, ~110kehp

The best little fleet I was ever involved in was a nightmare group of about 5/6 active tanked nightmares all with 2 energy transfers in the spare highslots.
Considering such a fleet is usually a hotdrop magnet we survived the entire roam unscathed. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels.StevieSG |

You got (apparently, too lazy to count myself) 32 ships. Of them you got 3 high dps ships (vindi/machs) and a few ships doing some additional dps (rooks, NHs, sleipnirs, curse and hugins less) with all other ships doing some shooting but nothing significant. And you call that a huge dps?

Too many people with too many different ships, it'll be hard for any FC to coordinate something like that. I'm especially talking about the EWAR, which has diminishing returns the more people you're up against, simply due to the fact it's harder to coordinate and you have less time to coordinate. If you replaced most of the Ewar in that fleet with Nano DPS ships like HAC's and Machariels/Cynabals the fleet would be much more menacing.

considering everything does ~2km/s +, the dps is pretty good, sleipnirs are putting out 800+dps, nh's 500+dps
