I'm wanting to start PVP so I was thinking of going to low sec to roam on my own in a rupture, but what to fit and how to fly it? I've seen a number of threads shield vs armour tank and I can't make up my mind which one to use.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Search the forums for a ruppy fit that suits your skills, decide then. Dont fill the forums with useless threads like this

The plated rupture is fit like this, which gives it the best gank/tank, but makes it kinda sluggish. Well, you can change around the rigs and swap tank for gank a bit if you want. It'll probably beat most t1 cruisers and frigs.
[Rupture, Plated] Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Damage Control II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Gyrostabilizer II
Warp Scrambler II Stasis Webifier II 10MN MicroWarpdrive I
Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, EMP M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, EMP M Dual 180mm AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP M Small Energy Neutralizer II Small 'Knave' I Energy Drain
Medium Projectile Ambit Extension I Medium Projectile Ambit Extension I Medium Projectile Collision Accelerator I
The shield rupture is basically what a stabber should be. It has great tracking and damage, is cheap, and goes faster than most cruiser hulls. Of course the tank on it sucks so you need to try and fly it well outside scram range.
[Rupture, Shield Nano] Tracking Enhancer II Damage Control II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II
10MN MicroWarpdrive I Large Shield Extender II Warp Disruptor II
425mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP M 425mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP M 425mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP M 425mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet EMP M Small 'Gremlin' Power Core Disruptor I Medium 'Gremlin' Power Core Disruptor I
Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I Medium Auxiliary Thrusters I Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Hobgoblin II x5

+1
Your three mid slots are filled with two electronic warfare modules and the last mid slot is filled with mwd. Where the F are you going to fit a shield tank? Nowhere.
Matari Vengeance, you obviously do not know what you are doing. You need more training time or read the forums, or both.

Confirming this fit is the way to go. Ignore the above two posters going on about how the Rupture is best with an armor tank. They have no clue what they're talking about.

Seconding this. Shield Ruptures are a lot of fun to fly, and way better for solo work than armor fits. I load Barrage as my primary ammo whenever I go out, and carry some RF EMP/Fusion for when things need to die quick.

Since I have no clue according to you. Can you clue me in on time estimate needed to fit all those t2 modules?

Roughly 5 seconds to open the fitting window and click 'fit'. Oh, you're talking about training time? Pretty much the same amount of time needed for an armor Rupture. Maybe less.

Download EVEMon and make a skill plan with the required skills for that fit.

My curiosity is not worth the use of the program. I figured that person who posted that fit has an idea of how long it takes to train for that fit. Maybe Matari Vengence will check it out.

Thirding this. Shield Ruptures are the way to go... and they *are* less skill intensive than armor ruptures. Mostly because you don't need compensation skills. ;-)

Ideally you're going to want both, both are good in different situations. That said, shield ruppy totally has more GTFO ability and range and both of these qualities are good for soloing. |
