HELLO EVERYBODY.
My name is M3M0R-Ñ $-ÑPH0N I'm an artist and a capsuleer. I use JUNK MEDIA to explore DEEP TISSUE issues and to expose the evil and ignorance in the cluster.
In YC 111, I was voted Most Daring Young Artist at the QuafeCHOICE G-Net Awards. In YC 113, I was 'detained' by the forces of the CorproFasist NOH company when I organized an art protest outside their offices in Kulu. This month, I released a new album: Freedom IS MY MOTHER. . The title track Freedom IS MY MOTHER is already number #1 on on the QuafeCHOICE G-Net site!
The CorproFasist music e-mag Rolling Veldspar called it, "An assault on good taste and sanity."
CHECK IT OUT.
Likes: Freedom Individuality Art Sex Drugs
Dislikes: Slavery Megacorporations Military Industrial Complexes Social stratification Oppressive and totalitarian regimes Factional Warfare Tofu Lists! (lololololol!!)
Because I SO HONORED to be here among all you important capsuleer types, I've decided to unveal my newest ART CREATION. It's called IMMERSION (Sarum in ****).

ItGÇÖs an exploration of the Sacred vs the Profane. I took that famous holoimage of the Empress Jamyl and projected it into a jar of my own urine. I then shook it up a bit (you can SEE the bubbles!) and took a picture.
We all know that the Empress has Sacred Flesh and my urine, even after drinking three bottles of tasty Quafe Diet Grape!, is profane. Does the EmpressGÇÖ projection make this image of my urine sacred? Does my urine make this image of her projection profane?
What does that tell us about how we think of sacredness?
DEEP TISSUE guys.
IGÇÖm going to get myself a refreshing bottle of Quafe Classic but leave me your thoughts or just SAY HELLO in this thread. You can also reach me at my g-net address M3M0R-Ñ$-Ñ

Hello Syphon,
I might have a look at your new album. I mean if those CorproFasist's think it's an assault on good taste and sanity it must be good, right?
As for the potential divinity of your art, that is a question I think I should leave to the more theological inclined of the Amarr. |

Oh, a nice new gallentean *akhem* "artist". Well, just one question to this... "artist", do you realize yourself what have you created? I mean you, yourself, for your so-called "art". It is urine. The only thing. Even that jar, you bought it somewhere. And all you have made yourself, is urine.
That's why I always tell to keep gallentean art and culture away and well locked from civilized world. There should be no place for urinating decadent artists in the new world that we are trying to build! THE WORLD WITHOUT GALLENTE! Oh, someone, please pass me a gun, I feel an urge to kill... something... |

I prefer a nice painting or sculpture... Call me old fashioned. I'm fighting the Amarr and even I think that's a bit offensive.
Also it's the jar sitting in front of the picture. Thus the jar is still profane and the picture is still sacred. Better luck next time. If you were to submerge the picture in it all you would get is a desecrated sacred item. Plus you'd probably be turned to glass from orbit by a large fleet of really pissed off Amarrians. Pirates are red, buddies are blue,if you're unlucky enough to be orange,I'll f*cking kill you. |

Pictures of the empress are not considered to be sacred items. Putting her picture in a bottle of urine would get you arrested in Amarr, but I do not think they would drag you in front of the theological council for it. Probably the MIO.
You can make your own decision as to what would be worse.
Anyway, it's irrelevant. Another capsuleer, given unlimited freedom, wastes their existence. Big surprise, news at 11. |

Plus you'd probably be turned to glass from orbit by a large fleet of really pissed off Amarrians. Hello there, Ms.-Engages-With-the-Subject-Matter, where have you been all my life?
I am also a fan of classical media. In the future, I may show off my sculptures and I'd be happy to hear your OPINION on them.
I projected a holoimage into the jar of urine. It's not sitting in front of it. You're attempting to compartmentalize the image 'this is a jar,' 'this is urine,' 'this is a holoprojection OF THE empress,' but the PROBLEM is that there is no jar, urine, or holo - you only have the image.
But you answered the central question. In your mind, the profane is more powerful than the sacred. Something sacred immersed in something profane is now profane. Sacredness? *Poof!* Gone.
For others, the SACREDNESS is more powerful. An image of the Empress, even if immersed in my QUAFE fueled bodily fluids, is still sacred. Sacredness is immutable.
Thank you for the chat!

Darling, I don't want to kill just someone, but a certain self-proclaimed artist, that can't do art, but just biological waste. Actually, I like art, but real art, not some gallentean decadence. And, besides, killing is my job. Do you always call people who do their job insane?

If you want to get me redressed, you have to be a little closer to me. A distance where I could grasp your throat will do.

As for the rest of that statement, it'd do you well to pull your head out of Heth's ass and use your eyes; this behavior isn't Gallente, it's just ******* obnoxious, and something that every group out there partakes in. |

Did you really believe that the "shining beacon of hope" that is the Federation's preferred party line would not at times be overshadowed by the vulgarity and hypocrisy of the Gallentean citizenry? This is why certain forms of personal "expression" are discouraged in other empires, though generalizing as it may be, in the eyes of detractors the actions of one, or the few, often reflect on the whole. This is especially true when dealing with cultural and poltical mediums such as we have here. Unfortunately persuading some Gallenteans to realize this diplomatically is quite the futile persuit, such matters are usually carried out much more efficiently with a few well placed volleys of missile fire. It is a symptom of madness that thoughts become uncontrollably disjointed. This can be encouraged.

The image of the Empress is not sacred, although I can understand some who might get upset at your work.
Perhaps if it were an image of a page of scripture, but even then the words on the paper themselves are not divine. How do you project an idea inside a jar of urine?
The profane is easy to produce, but I'd say you're having problems with producing the sacred in order to create the juxtaposition. |
