Edited by: Xenoguile on 08/12/2004 05:38:06 Ok i am just wondering if I am missing something, i get this LvL 3 mission
Silence the informant Mission briefing We have a bit of a problem on our hands with a recently fired employee of ours. He was working as a deep cover agent for us, and now he is threatening to release all the information to The Scope about what we have been doing. Eliminate the target! This mission expires at 2004.12.08 20:34:33 Overview and Objectives The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission: Deadspace Objective Find the former secret agent and eliminate him before he can reveal the top-secret information to agents from The Scope. Deadspace Location Rens Rewards The following rewards and bonuses will be yours if you complete this mission: 59000 credits. 64 units of Laser Sensor Cluster will be awarded to you as a bonus if you complete the mission before 2004.12.07 22:34. This bonus criteria can no longer be met. 69 Loyalty Points.
every other mission from my level 3 agent and i warp in with 20km from 10+ targets. Im running a rupture with 3 220m (small) 3 Heavy Launchers 3 cap rechargers 3 armor hardeners 1 cap 1 medium armor repairer.
And I am getting whipped up and down. If only I wasnt forced into warping into 20km of everything I think I know I could do it.
Am I wrong to think I should be able to warp in at a better distance? Also I hear people getting this as level 4 mission... level 2 missions are so silly kill 15 frigates that all die from one missle each and then this level 3 mission im lucky if i can kill one rat/drone before I have to warp out just because I have 10 or so objects firing at me all at once.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks in advance. - Xeno

Yes. It's a complex, there is exactly one way in. I just did this misison, and it was tough; a lot of the rogue drones are tougher than cruisers (taking multiple torpedeo salvos) and they are fast. I used a Typhoon with four siege lauchers and a webber, dumped hornets to try and distract some of the enemies. Five slots were dedicated to tanking... I could have gotten by without the large armor repairer, but it would have been close. I would not want to try this in a cruiser.
The loot was really good though; around 20M worth of alloys from the drones.
After the dornes coems a room full of mercenries (a commander, a wingman, and a bunch of fighters/elite fighers) and the final room has some sentry guns and a very weak boss.

Just lost my Apoc to this mission - seriously hard. Warp Scrambled, Webbed and into armour in about 30s from entry from first gate. Two Large armour repairers couldn't keep up with the drone onslaught and I couldn't hit them
It'd be nice if we got some idea what we were up against, or some ability to not jump into the middle of the drone infestation.
Oh well, I'll know for next time.

Just had this mission and I must say it was one of the best solo missions iv ever done. Did it in a maller outfitted as a duramaller with a cap recharger replaced with a webifier. The Drones section took absolutly ages and was the first time in a long time iv had to warp out to repair and come back. The other 2 sections were easy enough with kinetic/thermal hardners. I just need to figure out the best hardners for the drones section, although I have a fealing that its going to be resistance to all for them rather than specific types.

i was lucky to get out the first time to fit a smartbomb, works nice vs those ultra fast and low range rats, could take out the rest with my drones. and really nice loot there i agree with that
what really ****ed me off in this mission though was that i had to fly 150km+ to the acceleration gate 2 times!!!!!!!

The drones do kinetic and thermal dmg. The only explosive damage in the mission afaik is from the named guys hanging out with the mercs.
