I did some research for you and it looks that Eve space is way over 9000.

as big as it needs to be Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Ahaaa, i see what you did there! I like to post too, but sometimes i don't know what to say. So i just post something random like this post. But on the other hand, it might just all be a large signature. |

Tricky one indeed and cannot be answered with 100% certainty - as there are wormhole systems whose diameter probably varies in size and has no back-to-back celstials as such.
I can't find it right now but a while ago I came across a thread on EVE search, claiming that the longest distance in known space is a straight line of about 150 light years.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

Say the average diameter of an EVE solar system is 50 AU. And say there are a thousand solar systems in EVE.
That makes the total area Pi*25^2 * 1000 * 149,597,871 km (1 au) = 293,734,732,828 km^2.
So that's roughly 294 billion square kilometres :)

There are currently 5,100 solar systems in known space plus 2,500 wormhole systems. So... 7,200 systems approximately.

What happens to the space in between the solar systems, does that not count?
If you want to know the size I think you should be looking at the the maximum diameter of the galaxy and do it that way...
However, space with walls!

Space with walls, don't know who made that up it's more like space with boundaries. But without those boundaries it's difficult to see how the game would work at all.

At this current moment in time, the size of the EvE universe is null and void.
"Your character is located within Vevelonel, which is currently stuck. Please select a different character or try later."
After having extensive consultation with Professor Hawking, we have decided that this explanation is simply not supported by the mathematics and must therefore be erroneous.
This is indicative of a massive coverup and conspiracy, likely from the highest levels.

MVUO-F and M-VACR are a bit less then 100ly from each other. The density of stars is quite hefty. It's a lot denser then what you will find around Earth. So if Jita would go super nova halve of all planets in empire would lose halve of their atmosphere. I will stay in space, that's for sure.

Not really, it is estimated that there are ~14000 stars within 30.7pc (about 100ly) of Sol.

real space, maybe. however, EVE known space is disk-shaped stellar cluster. as stated in post 24, it's about 110 lightyears in diameter. ________________________________ : Forum Bore 'Em : Foamy The Squirrel |
