It is with great sadness I bid farewall to you, Pend
We have gotten to know each other very well over the past few months. Exchanging letters detailing the next ship insurance cover levels, and your kind mails expressing condolances for the 1450 battleships that have mysteriously perished under my command.
The production lines have went silent, the spreadsheets have no further data to process.
You will be missed, I hope that one day we can see eye-to-eye again, and pick up from where we left off.

Likewise, I actually set my alarm to wake me up at 01:30 to pop the final 36 ships that just finished producing, the final one going just as the cluster got a bit unstable

lol Pend Insurances motto shoulda been
"Pend Insurance...We bend over for YOU!"
I am glad it's over though.
Really was getting to where I had to force myself to log in...Check Buy orders, deliver Megathrons built overnite...trade to BS alts...Blow up...salvage..Order more minerals...2 times a week Ninja mineral run to Jita for like 2B in high end minerals...crap it was a lotta work! But I have been unemployed in R/L. And since I had "multiple" accounts and couldn't afford to pay real money anymore I had to do something.....and I had like 300M isk.
I had to do something....quick. I read about Insurance fraud did some investigation and went to work.
Thanks Pend Insurance. Over the last months you bought us some FORTY PLexs, an additional freighter, supported 2 accounts in Red v Blue for a few months. Thanks also for the numerous faction and T2 ships spread throughout our hangers.
We just love all our faction fittings too. Really will enjoy the 4 T3 ships being deliverd this week and thanks for the T2 rigs and faction fittings for them all.
Yep Pend, thanks to you we are doing fine...all accounts paid up for another month or so.
Finally a special thanks for the almost 10B sitting in my wallet, you guys ROCKED Pend!

I popped about 50 a day (so roughly 1500/month) for the last few months. Thanks to the early server problems yesterday I ended up with about a dozen strays, but still managed to pop about 100 yesterday. My last Abaddon fell to Amarr guns (I don't normally resort to that, I've always considered it TOO cheesy) with less than a minute to go before shutdown.
I tried to enlist some help when it became clear that I wouldn't quite make it, but nobody wanted to earn 36M ISK/hr + salvage. Apparently mining for 10M ISK/hr (probably less after minerals collapse today) was more appealing.
I hope whatever the 'grind' is in Tyrannis that it's not as horrible (even PvE is better than this) from a gameplay perspective.

Nice work keeping up with the logistics of 50/day ;p
As soon as the server comes back, you should dump those ships to the highest buy orders ASAP before others do, there should still be enough buy orders there to allow you to make a small profit, and break even on the rest
I managed to scrape together about 3bil in the last 10 busy days leading up to tyrannis, using buy orders for the minerals really helps

Yeah guys was a great run.
Those of us who have been doing this for awhile, and did all our own buying KNOW what a laugh this "all the minerals come from mission runners" is.
Everyday the same "names" sold me over 60% of my low end minerals...I am talking BILLIONS of units, and I was small time. I only averaged around 30 per day...200+ per week. I did all my hauling myself...what a freakin grind man.
Glad it's over.
Minerals are going in the toilet IMO....really soon.

I blew up mostly Apocs. They didn't have the highest profit/ship but they had the highest profit/unit of minerals and their BPC tended to be cheaper than Rokhs or Abaddons. They also dropped nice salvage. Unfortunately the Apoc BPO I bought 3 months ago probably is worth less now than it was before I did 3 months of ME research on it.
As for other trade secrets, well, you never know, I might get back into manufacturing at some point so I'd better not share.

Agreed Capt Fossil, started this back in november and stopped a while after dominion when Pye spiked.
I also noticed various characters clearing out my buy orders (at even more insane speeds/volumes in these last few days). As for the pending mineral apocalypse, this is going to be one wild ride
That 10 days of work I did resulted in 62,276,284m3/41bil worth of minerals being destroyed and converted to isk, and that as you say is small time, 40-60 a day, compared to the larger operations likely run behind the scenes.

Edited by: Capt Fossil on 26/05/2010 14:34:26 The thing I would really like to see if for those high end mineral speculators and manipulators, especially the one or two controlling Nocx in Jita to take it on the chin hard.
We used lots of high end minerals too. I think alot of folks have underestimated the impact us fraudsters had on the minerals market, as they have underestimated just how much was/is produced by Macro Miners.
Who know's...minerals may tank so bad that we are still in Biz....I hope not though.
Thanks for this thread RawringDragon. It's been nice to have a collective sigh of relief.

I'm going to laugh damn hard if mega/zyd tank soon after the servers reopen, I'm not quite sure the Drone Compound rebalancing is going to have as much impact as CCP hope it will

Edited by: AkJon Ferguson on 26/05/2010 14:42:20 Edited by: AkJon Ferguson on 26/05/2010 14:41:51 I tried to get this thread going a couple of days ago:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1323350
I expected a kind of last-day feeding frenzy and mineral price crash. It never really materialized.
I also expected BPC suppliers to have enough sense to offer significant discounts the last few days instead of eating a bunch of now-almost-worthless inventory as they have instead chosen to do.

I noticed various minerals, namely Pye, Trit and Nocx had a surge of supply which drove prices down, just to be driven back up by people mass-purchasing them to be used for BS construction. This of course beefed up the profit in the days before deployment quite tastily
Agreed at the BPCs, I unfortunatley did not get a chance to offload the remaining Rokh/Abad bpcs in time, got about 50/120 runs of each sitting around currently

Ya know I thought we would see more of a drop in prices too.
BUT, not many Macro miners read the forums. I was also surprised about how many large buy orders were still out there.
Hey, I guess ignorance IS bliss.

Congratulations. You took an exploit in the game and put more work into it than you would have actually making the ISk with a non exploit.

LOL man....I run Level 4's and 5's, have my own high sec research POS, do a fair amount of trading AND there is now way I have ever made anywhere near the kind of isk per hour I made off insurance fraud.
Hopefully your 5th grader son will do well in math. FYI, a failure in game design is NOT an exploit, it is a failure in game design. Combine that with the fact that this game is overun with macro miners and you have an opportunity for profit. Which I took.
Here's where I learned how.

They fixed it. You don't fix things that aren't broken. If you don't think a broken mechanic that yields profit is an exploit then you don't understand what an exploit is. I'm not saying you didn't make profit. I'm saying you made less profit than you could have. This is clearly a signature. |

Hello Cipher,
Please explain to me what profession you are thinking of that allows you to earn 300-500mil per day, reliably, only requiring 1-3 hours of non-intensive work (waiting for freighters to move, orders to fill, and ships to pop), without requiring anything other than good spreadsheet skills and a single freighter?

Yeah please do Cipher, as we are now out of work.
RawringDragon drop me a line ingame over the next few days please. I normally don't log into this guy but I will everyday just to check mail. Maybe we can compare notes and have some fun and make a little isk.
