i can "warp to" roids. maybe you are talking about something specific. like warping to roids you can see on the same grid over 200km away?
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |

I warp into a belt and try to highlight a roid and it does not even give me the option. You now have to have it on your scanner which takes up the whole screen even when you downsize it to the max.

Edited by: Braaage on 08/12/2004 17:20:56 Ok this is one of the first things I moaned about until I learned how to use our friend called the "Overview".
By clicking on the square at the side of Overview and choosing "type selector" and then ticking all the ore types you can mine by this and it is MUCH easier than clicking an asteroid ever was.
By leaving all ship types and asteroid types ticked u can save this and use it to target rats and roids alike by right clicking on the overview item and select lock.
This makes mining for a particular roid even easier as you can just tick the roid type u want to mine.
Then sort it on distance or roid type and mine away very very easily.
BTW don't forget to save your choices for future use.
You can even choose approach asteroid as in the original post's complaint (if that's what she meant).

Well, I am trying to do this while ganking in enemy territoy. I do not want my overview crammed full of astroids so I can not see how far off the enemy is and or the npc. I do not like the overview at all. To find your gang mates in a large fleet battle it is near to impossible to seperate them from the others as the icons aree so small. I have a 20 inch monitor and a sweet graphics card but trying to detect the friggin things is a complete and utter nightmare...
Synopsis the overview leaves a lot to be desired. The old one while it being "old" certainly handled the job and you could read it. One more thing wtf is it with the overview not being able to be moved.

Pre Exodus I would use the scanner and then run my cursor down it to see the best roid to warp to. This method might still work, but the big dumb scanner window will visually impair you and the small tiny window to see the scan results will also affect the speed at which you can see which roids to warp to. The new scanner I very much disapprove of, it has no longer become a tool for battle, it is nothing more than a scanner to find safe spots and other stuff like that now.
I jumped into a system and say a bunch of teeny tiny barely visible red squares (that's my way of saying a larger yellow square was preferred) so I pulled up the scanner and did a scan, wow a tristan and a megathron and one or two other ships. But my overview says about 10-12 ships, hmm. I hate the new scanner. CCP the scanner was a versitile tool pre-patch now it is not.

you can just hover-target the roid. you have to be very choosy where you put your mouse pointer and then wait for the name to come up. and, beware of the evil "ocean sway" of the camera. will make things harder for small targets...
the overview works quite well, though.
there is a fine, but dissasterous line between a fart and a shart. i suggest you make sure which side you want to be on... |
