Eternum Praetorian wrote:Normally a double click changes the path of my ship. That is the way that it has always been since I started playing eve many years ago. Now... for some reason, a click-mouseslide-release changes the course of my ship too. So I can no longer pan the camera around my ship without also turning said ship.
Thinking that this was a problem with my Razor Naga, I reinstalled the driver this morning.
Still the same thing. So is this a new "feature" that I must now live with? Is there a setting I can change that will stop this client behavior? Do I need t o get rid of my Razor Naga? Any advice would be appreciated.

Mousebuttons can become worn and start sensing doubled clicks from single clicks. The first time I encountered it was with a microsoft intellimouse a decade ago. As a precaution you should open up your naga software and ensure that it says click, not double click for the left mouse button. Next you may wish to to try changing the double click speed in the windows setting, it could have gotten set to low. Move the slider around a bit, and apply and then move it to your desired setting to ensure that it gets set to the correct frequency. Make sure you naga sotware and firmware are up to date. mouse manufactures will sometimes put microfilter in the software that will ignore extremely high frequency click to help alieviate this issue.
There is some software call mousefix.exe. I've used it for years to fix users issue with old mice. Those it has been a while you should be able to find it. It is a simply small program that intercept the freqency clicks and sends a single in its stead. Nothing fancy, completely free. Do a google search, it comes up.
Lastly, there are guides available to help walk you through owner mainenance/repair. Google "fix naga false double click". It may seem dounting, and may be if you are terrible will your hands, but it really is a simple as finding the switch and giving a dab or two of electronic cleaner. Alcohol (isopropl), not acetate (finger nail polish remover) may some times be substuted. Use sparing (that means as little as possible), and work the mechanics. Do no do as some say and use wd-40 or some other light oil. You will be bringing your mouse to a much swifter demise.
Take care, and good luck. The naga is a fine mouse. |

USB connection with XP operating system and the standard MS drivers.
Oddly when I swapped the intellimouse out with an old generic dynex mouse I no longer had double click issues in eve.
Definitely the mouse in your case, the intelimouse has a buggy switch which fails with surprising frequency. (More like fail like clockwork. :P) Download mousefix.exe. Follow the instructions, it is very easy, just drag it to your startup folder.
I found the original author.

Vertisce Soritenshi wrote:I have a Razer Naga and have the same problem in EVE. Only thing is...of all the games I play, EVE Is the only one with this issue.
So somebody please explain to me how it's the mouse that is the problem?
So maybe its a mouse driver problem then? |

A friend found a bug and reported it in detail early this year. The bug related to click-hold-drag operations (in space) resulting in the last-window-to-be-touched-prior being moved to the end point of the click-hold-drag (IIRC). This bug was fixed quickly. All previous responses are clearly the most likely, however if you can work through them without resolution (+ other mouse) then I'd suggest digging in the direction of independent reproduction as best you can. There is minor potential for an issue to exist in that area (IMO). |

Ditto, but old model USB Logitech mouse. I'm beginning to suspect the UI/GPU having issues with screen update refresh that it just screws up the mouse. Nothing conclusive atm, though. Had difficulty dragging items, resizing window and uncontrolled double-clicking (when your intention is a single-click) for both left AND right buttons.
Any dev can answer if EVE's pointer function is a hardware or software cursor?

I've had the same issue. Razor are well known for this.
Thankfully, a reasonably easy fix. Open it up and put a few drops of WD40 on the micro switches - enough for it to go inside them. This will fix it if it's not totally gone.
Google "double click wd40" and you'll find videos and loads of people saying it fixed it for them too. |

So while it works fine in MW3 COD Counter strike terra swtor rift and all my other games/computers it's definitely the mouse and not some sort of change in eve with the large patch?
