Is it possible to have multiple members of your corporation have access to the same PI infrastructure, similar to having multiple pos fuelers?
Or does each player have his own infrastructure?
With the little (inb4 rtfm) I've read about PI, there seems to be quite frequent (30 minutes - 48hrs) 'refueling' or click whoring, so this seems to be a pretty key question...

It's personal, not corp. Sadly, you have to do the clicking yourself on a daily basis.
And you get to pick between 30 minutes, 5 hours, 23 hours or 4 day intervals. The 30 minute interval gives very good yields but it a totally annoying chore, and there are some "bandwidth" issues with links if you try to scale it up. The 5 hour and 23 hour intervals are marginally ok, but one has to scratch their head at the timings chosen, as none "fit" evenly into 24 hours, so you can't make it a daily routine at a fixed time unless you're willing to take some losses. The 4 day interval pretty much sucks donkey balls. Not only is the yield abysmally small, but the TOTAL resources extracted in 4 days are barely a bit more than those you can extract with a single 23-hour cycle, so it's completely impractical.
One can only hope CCP will revise the timers/amounts, but I wouldn't hold my breath until it happens.

Not that I know of, but it may have changed since I was last on Sisi. There are different time intervals 30 min 5 hours 24 hours and 3 days (at least thats what I think they are). But it is click intensive for a lot of stuff. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

slightly off topic, but the 23 hour cycle, I'm assuming is taking into account the 1 hour of downtime, meaning that you could have a daily routine time to manage stuff while maintaining optimal efficiency, correct?

Yes, it was 24h before on the test server and was changed so that you can scan for ressources at the same time everyday. Like Manufacturing, Research and Skill Training, it also runs while the server is down.

the cycle starts from when ever you set it to go, so it's not down time to down time (unless for some strange reason you decided to set it up as soon as the servers came online).
In other words it will go from 04:-- to 03:--, or 16:-- to 15:--. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

It was 24h to begin with, but people complained (and rightfully so, IMHO) that a 23h option would be better. With a 24h cycle you will move you starting time a litle each day as it takes time (even if it's not much) to resurvey and submit. Thus you would soner or later lose a whole day as the actual cycle (including resurveying) would be more than 24h and thus push the expiration time of the deposit beyond your play time window.

It would appear to me that they say the same thing in different ways. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

Sorry, but still not getting it. I setup my PI stuff for a 23 hour cycle at 12:00, and it will be done at 11:00 the next day, so that i can fiddle around with it... for a full hour before starting it up again?
Anyone care to venture a guess as to profitability? It sounds boring, but maybe im just not seeing the big picture

You have extractors that have cycles to pull out material to feed your factories, those are what we are talking about. Those cycles have different rates of return with different cycle times. Anyways it takes a few clicks to get them going each time so if you are running a big operation it could take an hour to do your planets.
If you really didn't want that hour to go to waste and felt like sitting on top of it for a bit you could fit in a 30 min cycle or two. The point of a 23 hour timer is simply because if it was 24 hours it would end up being later and later each day, it's just a convenience thing. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00
