Just wondering. I've never really had a use for them and as for advertising bounties, we all know the bounty system is broken. So what use are they and why are they still in the game?

They have little value beyond being eye candy, I say. Sure you can have a shortcut to view EVE news, but it would be cool if CCP made them more...extensive.

They need to be hackable with level 5 hacking. Then players can put whatever they want on the billboards.

Eh, I like 'em as is. It's a nifty idea that's not hurting anyone, even if they are effectively just another link to the news page (all the more convenient now since the in-game browser no longer goes there by default).

I like them. I donŠt read them very often but they add immersion to the game. They could be more useful if they displayed traffic advisories or some info about the system you are jumping to. (Kill statistics, number of players, stations/services). But IŠd miss them.

To go even further, why not let them show the grid on the other side of that gate, you can see if its camped or not, be pretty neat, thats even MORE immersion.

For me the only thing they really did was link to current EVE news in the IGB browser... since then I never bothered to read the billboards again.

Yeah, and why not add a feature that lets you fly through the billboard directly into the other system instead of stupid jumping?

Im being serious, lol.
Imagine if there were a billboard then when you click it, it showed a security cam feed from the gate, aswell as a delayed overview, it wont be perfect, but it will get more people into lowsec, since not EVERY gate from high to low is camped, this lets the carebears wander :)

they need something done Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

I can already hear all the whines that this would bring. You could as well demand seeing who is in local in the other system.
There could be issues rendering this inside the client leading to more lag.

We definitly need billboards that we can use. We could use them for corp/alliane ads, or just ads in general. I'm tired of seeing the same face over and over again.
100,000 ISK/day for your ad on a billboard. Depending on the jumps to/from the system this increases to a max of 10,000,000.00 ISK/day. ________________________________________________

It should be ridiculously expensive or you'll have Nooma K'larrs face on every billboard in the universe.
