Hey all Here below my current situation.
I used to play years ago and just started again. I have 2 accounts.
First Account:
About 5M sp allocated as follows: -Drones 365k -Gunnery 115k -Industry 700k -Learning 2500k -Science 975k -Ship Command 400k
As you can see I used a ōnot so specificö direction in training and now I have a character able to do a lot of things but not very well. He can use barges, and pilots a Dominix. Has some basics in production, refining and exploration. Kinda strong in learning
Second Account:
About 4.2M sp allocated as follows: -Drones 20k -Gunnery 50k -Industry 560k -Learning 2300k -Science 50k -Ship Command 1200k
He can use industrial (gr8 for support to other account barge) and has battleship and cruiser to level 4.
Granted this, my questions for you guys:
1)At the moment I use 2nd account only for mining support and refining (but with no standing is kinda useless for it). Which other roles I can assign to him (preferred passive roles ą) 2)1st account: I am using the dominix for missions . I am still making lev2 so they almost donĘt touch me butą. Is damn slow! How can increase significantly the ship speed (it goes now at 200m/s with afterburner onąą) 3)Could any body suggest a good fitting and/or essential skill plan for dominix missions?
Thanks a lot for your attention!

I can do that (always done it with my thorax) but does not solve my speed problem with domi..

Battleships are slow, period. That's one reason why Lauren suggested battlecruiser or cruiser.

hey mate thanks a lot for the info. I am reading that really carefully. And I agree with both of you guys that bs are not optimal for L2 missions.
What I wanted to understand, thoug, is if exist a fitting or a set of skill that could help me to improve the overall speed (will never be as a shuttle I guess)

Edited by: Dex Timor on 28/05/2010 14:05:25 Edited by: Dex Timor on 28/05/2010 13:59:24 "navigation" improves basic ship speed. "acceleration control" improves afterburner and micro-warp drive effect on your ship.
There are modules and rigs that improve your ship speed, but on a mission boat they will most likely be a waste of a slot. modules: overdrive injectors -> speed bonus nanofiber steructures -> makes your ship lighter, that way you get higher acceleration and total speed as well as agility
rigs: "astronautic rigs" like auxiliary thrusters or polycarbon engine housing.

You could train your second account to be a Trader in addition to being a hauler for your miner. That works out as the hauling skill helps with both.
The other thing I notice though was no mention of Engineering, Electronics, Navigation, Mechanic and Science. All those skills are important for how well you run your ship. Social and Trading help you with standings and fees.

Some ideas you see on the forums:
You could have the second account fly a fast salvage ship like a destroyer
You could train the alt to fly an Orca - addressing mining and transport needs as well as in a mission if can use its tractor beam of awesomeness.
There is also flip-flop and DP:
You could plan to flip roles, overtanked Domi flies in gets agro, drops drones. Second ship arrives and is the one you actively fly, it should not need much of a tank so can focus on gank and speed.
DP: you train the second account up to fly ... a Domi. Run two separate missions at the same time: e.g., overtanked sentry Domi semi AFK is commonly suggested.

thansk a lot for your info mate. The orca idea attracts me a lot. Still is kinda painful to skill up.. but i'll do it one day. Other options are a little bit too active.. I mean, I dont want to alt-tab all the time :)
anyway great ideas!

Yeah, I figured you'd probably just not listed them. Make sure you've got those support skills trained up - they are as important as anything else.
The thing with the Orca - is that is down the Mining Path. Look at the skills requirements for flying one. The trouble with training for an Orca - is that you want to have at least two trained miners - one who ends up flying the Orca and the other who is mining. The thing here is - other than using the Orca as a base ship - it isn't practical to have it just supporting one miner. If you do want the Orca as a base ship - then it can support the other account ... it's just not going to be supporting a miner if that other account isn't a miner too.
If your hauler isn't going to be a miner too - then you want to train them to use transports and then freighters. That or train them to be a miner too if you want them in an Orca - cause that's what it requires to fly it. Mostly, for two accounts - you can get by with an industrial for hauling.
And yeah, alt-tabbing a lot doesn't work so well. It's OK if you're mining but if you're running missions and such ... it's better to either be in another window and best on another monitor or computer.

I just learned about the obelisk ship.. I could train that on 2nd account and go for massive hauling :D
