Even as an industrialist, I think this expansion was pretty lame. But as an Alienware owner ... lol I kid.

I hate to pee on your parade, but from a pirate point of view, this patch is actually very good. You see, the planet thingamajig is better the lower sec you go. You know, risk v reward an all. So we anticipate much traffic and many helpless targets to kill.
Nope, no tears here!

Yup, the highsec planets will be overfarmed and have the lowest resources to begin with. People wanting to make money with PI will be forced into lowsec which helps us pirates out.

Lol, if pirates are whining about this patch they are out of their minds.
Insurance nerf, agents sending tons of people into lowsec for missions, all in all great for business, the sheer amount of ransoms is making my wallet explode.
Great patch

Edited by: Abdiel Kavash on 28/05/2010 18:14:00 Love this patch, and CCP's less carrot and more stick approach to getting people to low/0 sec. There are a few things I couldn't care less about (blinking keyboard lights? sun models?), but I can't find a single thing I hate about it. Okay, the Scorpion model is complete failure, but the TIII textures (and the promise to use them more) redeem it.
Highsec is not supposed to be your endgame. It is not supposed to be as much, or even more profitable than living in the real EVE world.

Exactly like how high-sec belts are overfarmed and have the worst asteroids to begin with. Miners wanting to make money by mining are forced into lowsec which gives you pirates lots of easy Exhumer kills.

There's a difference. Most miners macro or are semi afk to begin with so they would never run the risk of going into lowsec. Also Miners realize that they are sitting ducks for hours at a time. People doing PI need to spend much less time in lowsec and will basically just be going to their planets to pick stuff up and head home. We will catch them en-route.

i love the 'us' vs 'them' childish game like many others im sure, but yknow i dont know alot of pirates, or whatever name you wish to call people who like to fight, complaining much. what i see is crying about missions mostly. lots of lots of crying. i may have to take up carpentry to build a classic boat to sail a sea of tears made by the crying and whining about changes to missions. such will be the torrent of tears that noah himself will quiver in fear. together with a pair of animals of each species and sailing the undulations of this dihydrogen monoxide scape to what one must hope is the promised land of free beer.

Pirate tears are the best tears.
Mission-running generally don't qualify as "pew pew" or as piracy, you know, and that's where the tears and whines come from. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Absolutely false. Looks like you haven't realized it, but lowsec planets are only very slightly richer than highsec ones, often not at all. Null sec ones, however, gives a real jump, and are often far richer than either high or lowsec. Alliances farm those, they're not open.
Fewer and fewer carebears are venturing into lowsec as we speak, due to the mass migration to deep highsec mission hubs. Before, boarder agents send 1 out of 10 missions into low, and missioners often risk it for that once. Now it's 9 out of 10, and they just give up and move somewhere else. Lowsec near boarder mission hubs are getting emptier, the difference is very noticeable at peak hours.

I wasn't going to troll today, but for someone like you I will point out why you are truly a carebear.
You are anticipating "helpless" targets.
If you kill noobs you don't make any money, as nubs and the helpless have nothing to take.
Therefore you are a carebear, getting your money from somewhere else. Either that or you pay for your subscription with RL money, which is pure carebear. This is clearly a signature. |

the patch itself is ok, although the patching was not done very smartly and the programming will have some problems solved.

You sir, are a very astute person, though allow me to clarify my position specifically.
I have been playing since 2003, and was mostly carebear for many years. Through this time I acquired much isk (and lost lots too!).
Early this year I discovered the joy of pirating, and haven't looked back since. So, I don't carebear anymore as you say, and I most certainly do not pay for isk! I am simply a retired carebear

Edited by: Loki Valis on 28/05/2010 19:56:01 They only thing that stays constant in EVE is the amount of whining from ALL sides every time a patch/expansion is released.
In fact, thats the only constant in the entire gaming industry.
Its like a family feud, 2 weeks from now everyone will have forgotten and gotten on with their "lives" .
And then you have the anti/pro whiner whining posts, its hilarious.
