Do I really need a zillion channels on my TV? No, not really...but they are nice to have. Lot's of things in life are really unnecessary, but they are nice to have...like frosting on cake. So I ask CCP WHY? Why are you removing elements of EVE that may not be necessary...but are nice to have? Case in point...wide-screen view. It actually added a touch of cinematic flair to the space game. I'm reminded of communist nations where only the bare essentials of life are produced....everything else is a frill. Just recently microwave ovens became a hit in Cuba and we all know how much fun they have in North Korea these days...don't we? EVE may be "expanding" in features, but it's declining in quality. Personally I'd rather have the quality. It's what makes the difference between any old game, and a GREAT game. If you keep taking the lollipops from your players that brought them to the game int the first place, your future looks bleak. You'll be left with a 2004 award, and that's it. so what was going on in 2004 that isn't now? BTW, 2004 was some time ago....don't you want another? Then make the most pleasurable game you can conceive. LISTEN to your player base. You are not doing so IMHO and it will be your decline. Incarna be damned...I like the frosting on the cake.

You should know that. Learn to read SirSkidMark, I never said I don't like the game. I just DONT like how things that I like about the game are being taken away.

This is just plain stupid. It seems there are far more features missing that others are upset about also. The issues and cleanup with this expansion: 1. POS's blowing up people in corps, positive standings, alliance etc. The person who messed this up should be fired or fined for the time/RL ISK lost. Now CCP needs to waste many main hours to investigate the losses and instead of creating new content or answering the petitions for things like... 2. Alliance logos... still missing. Some people have been waiting over a year for this. Come on... How hard is it to verify a PSD and add it to the server? Is it really that difficult? 3. The overview is more buggy than when we went into this expansion. 4. The "expansion" isn't finished. It's got some fixes added to the game, but it seems a lot more was broken going in than fixed and now you need to play cleanup. To CCP... There are features your players have been wanting for a long time. There's also a lot of bugs and parts of this game that really need fixing. Please, stop adding on to the broken, put your heart back into this game and please show us that you're not just pumping out code to bring in subs. At the rate you're going, you're going to push players away, not attract them. You're removing things instead of fixing which is making the game less enjoyable and frankly, I really don't care to log in. Just look at CAOD/IGS... Not much going on. I strongly believe this is due to lack of interest. The norther war was a flop due to broken mechanics which should have been fixed months ago. Furthermore, go look at the Character Bazaar. It's a buyer's market over there. People are selling them off quick. Listen, I get bored with games fast. One of the reasons I switched to EVE from the few other games I played in the past was because of it's active developers and how, in the Fanfest videos they seemed to take a care in their game. I really enjoy seeing how close the developers are in your offices. There's a problem I find, and have so with every company I've worked with. When the employees get too close, they tend to goof off instead of producing quality work. They get complacent and forget that they are in a place of business and have customers to keep happy. This game has gone from a heart filled game to something where you're trying to impress your investors and get more RL ISK in. Your employees who do the art development really only had time to create one ship? The address book really needed to be released without labels? PI is half finished? @ the bosses/managers of CCP. As a manager, I'd be firing people. This is unacceptable. Focus on your game or you'll lose your loyal players. This is not an "EVE Is dying post"... This is a... Focus on what is important or it will.

Can anyone explain a legitimate usage for the setting that anymore than 0.0001% of the playerbase was actually using?

For people who still use CRT's, they could set it wide screen and have the two black bars on the top and bottom of their screen. I never used it. Can someone post a screenshot of it? I would have imagined that this just added to their database lines and lines of unnecessary code and room for error.

It had the movie letterbox look to it which was kind'a cool. Again, not a necessity but it didn't hurt leaving it in just because they feel no none was using it. BTW...how the Fk do they know? I have yet to get any kind of questionnaire about anything. ------------------------------------------------ Urging CCP to work on current issues next expansion.
