Just done my first missions since the patch and I have to say..
CCP WTF
Your now attempting to force people who dislike low sec, to go into low sec in a PVE ship..
What sort of thoughts go through your mind, How about making all roids low sec only to screw miners over.
The last 2 missions have wanted me to go to low sec, Not a prayer..
You wanted to make the game better and now this? Also after 1 day I can say I'm a bit fed up of the afterburners in the loot and salvage.

This has nothing to do with Tyrannis but entirely to do with the agent you're using. If you're near a lowsec system, expect to get missions into that system. Been that way for as long as I've been playing.

TBH with you, lvl 4's needed the nerf. I haven't done one in close to 9 months and I am getting along quite nicely w/out them. It seems apparent to me when ppl become to dependent on 1 thing in Eve, CCP nerfs it. Example: Nos and nano just to name a few. I don't think its so much they want you to go to low-sec its more of a risk/reward thing with them having massive amounts of income potential while still being in a practically risk-free environment. Nobody is forcing you into low-sec, stay in high and deal with what is imo a more realistic income for something that is placed in high-sec. If you are having problems seeing the logic behind this than I regretfully need to inform you that you do not understand what Eve is at it's basic core. Risk versus Reward.

Edited by: Garak Jakobs on 31/05/2010 20:45:41 My agent before Tyrannis never gave me low sec missions, Maybe a few storylines in lowsec which is fine.
On the other hand Ive just read a good 5 page topic on this exact matter and found out its to do with giving systems a lighter load on lag but yes I think I'll move to a better place not close to low sec.
To the above poster, your talking rubbish they didn't need a nerf at all. Its just another fail idea by low brain celled Icelandic folk.

Did you read the patch notes? Some agents were not sending people on missions into low-sec so they "fixed" that.
Personally, I have been running missions for a certain high-sec agent for months and not once did I get a mission into low-sec. That is, until after the "expansion."
CCP doesn't care about pve as a major part of this game. Missions are just for 0.0 people to make isk.
I care about pve so I am done with eve. No one can have my stuff because I already liquidated everything and gave the isk away.
I'll be back when CCP creates some proper pve content, fixes the ui, and starts working with players instead of against them. Not a very thought-out reply but I can't help that I'm an idiot. |

No. The problem was that they had put in place a system to send you on missions in less populated systems, to even out population in systems and reduce server strain. Their fix was broken, and actually had the opposite effect, keeping people in the highly populated hub. Tyrannis fixed this bug, and it now sends people to unpopulated areas, which, for some people, means lowsec.

Which means agents near low sec will mainly send you to low sec, since those systems are always the ones with least people.
And no this isnt a nerf to lvl 4s, dunno about motsu, but for sure dodixie isnt near enough to low sec to get sent there. This is only a nerf to those people who did missions outside the normal mission hubs, so they are now forced to go to mission hubs like everyone else. That much for load balancing...

Wrong. They replaced one bug with another in the opposite direction. Carebears are moving to deep highsec mission hubs. Didioxie population: 400 and growing. This has already put more strain on servers. Some null clusters have already crashed as we speak, due to CCP moving servers away from them.

I got a fair few of both from the Minmatar Rats in the Insorum mission twice this weekend.

I have gotten tons of armor plates. Not really any Trit bars though and have yet to get a low sec mission.
I did however notice that my ships are getting their *ss handed to them that worked prior to the patch so they must have upped the damage from NPCs.

Boo Muthafukin Hoo. Do like everyone else with risk aversion and find your mission races 'hidden' good quality level 4 agent deep in high sec. Sorry if it takes :effort: to find and use but hey you will get 90% of the payout of your .5 agent with zero chance of a low sec run.

so sick of posts like this. "it doesn't affect me so i say good" or "i don't do the thing that just got screwed so maybe you'd better learn to grow up and do what i do". so constructive and helpful

i run level 4s in low sec all the time , whats the issue, its all due to server laod goto amarr space away from the caldari jockeys and level 4 will always be high sec lol Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

Where is the closest lowsec to Taru? Or Umokka?
Don't think this affects me. Or wouldn't even if I'd bothered to log in the last month or so.

I've never really understood their agent distribution. Personally i'd think it'd make more sense to have all the +20 quality level 4s in .5 or around the high sec/low sec border, and have the lesser quality (-20) agents in 'higher' high sec.
Of course I just returned to ratting in 0.0 and made over 200mil in 3 hours. Enjoy your missions.

I completely disagree. I've done thousands of missions in Hentogaira, and rarely been given a low sec mission pre-Tyrannis. Now they're more common than not. It's got everything to do with Tyrannis. Signature locked for discussing moderation. Navigator

Pick a high sec agent in a bye pass system. There's loads of them. You only need to pick a system with the lowest number of players, it's nothing to do with low sec as such.
Those running to one place are ignoring game mechanics , there is no need for it at all.

No, that's not correct at all. For a start most players are losing a lot by going to mission hubs (I don't know why they go there at all, agent quality is only one factor in payout) and there are a lot of agents in areas where there is more activity in a low sec connection.
Players just have to look for them on the map. No one is being forced, they are making big assumptions based on false information being posted on these forums from panickers and moaners.

i really don't see why people can't adapt to this. i ran a few low sec misions before this last expansion and what i did was simple. use friends. i mean come on if your in a good corp then invite a pal to the mission, let him have the loot or salvage, and have him (or them) fly a pvp ship. in the few lowsec missions i had, i flew with 2 other corp mates only twice did someone scan us down and warped to us. if you can solo a level 4 mission it's just a matter of moving your ship far away from the warp point and level your buddies behind. when someone warps in, they immediately get attacked by your buddies while you are safely away from the action doing your mission. you get all the reward, they get the loot and salvage, fair trade.
there is something that most mmos share and it's this: cooperation. sure you can be by yourself but really, how far can you truly make it on your own? can you own a system on your own? can you make a run to jita with a freighter full of valuable cargo on your own? unless you have been playing for years hell no and even then it's a slim chance.

Carebears don't have or want friends. They want maximised isk/hour in a risk free environment. Let them whine.

LOL fear of low and null sec (expecally null sec) is overrated. i got blown up more in high sec than in low sec. i wonder if carebears even TRY to enter null sec. i personally made change a few times but myself by fulling my retriever up with ore from null sec and hauling ass back to high sec to sell itxD wasn't ABC but still some good stuff. and as the above poster said MMOs are all about cooperation you'll be hard pressed to make enuf isk to get by doing things on your own. (not saying it's impossible it's just harder)
