Isn't it possible for multiple players to ****(mine) the same planet? Anyone know what the distance is you can set a CC next to another? Also, how/where is this distance calculated? --

I think, and I put weight on the THINK part, that every player has full use of any planet, regardless of other players on the said planet.
I don't know if there's a cap how many players can inhabit a single planet, but for those players the whole planet is available regardless of the other players who also have their colonies there.

It doesn't matter, planetary interaction is very poor. I can't even believe they released it in the condition it is in.

if memory serves, there is no limit to how many CC are on each planet, but each planet is limited to total output so once you hit the cap everyone's mining rate starts droping

My (very limited) understanding is that the more players that are using a planet, the less each one gets from it (this will be your incentive to hire Dust Mercs to burn them out). But for now, you just have to suffer the competition, saving up your precious hatred for the time when it can be expressed.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

I wild guess would be:
If there is 45 patches of extractable stufz on a planet, only 45 CCs can be installed...you could plant a 46th between patches but what would be the point.

But if there are as many planets as there are available, and multiple characters can seed each world, wouldn't it make more sense to just go somewhere sparely populated and set up there instead of paying some FPStard to shoot the other losers near my craptastic SimColony?
And does this mean a ton of DUST mercs will be sitting around with their thumbs up their butts while we all relocate instead of paying them?
I wonder how poorly this integration is going to go.
