You cant really play eve AFK, so how do you large transport pilots keep your sanity moving cargo around at a snails pace?
These large ships should have an auto-WTZ feature at least. They are just sitting ducks.

I think you mean freighters. Transport Ships (at least the covops variant) can move, align, and warp as fast or faster than most frigates.

Actually, after flying orcas a LOT and then jumping into my freighter, I realized that freighters actually get into warp pretty quickly for their size.
Now the warp speed is rather amusing.

It's pretty safe to leave a freighter on AFK autopilot in empire as long as you don't have like 10 bill worth of stuff in it.

yeh they may be slow but have you every tryed moving 800k m/3 in a iteron 5... I can asure you it takes quite some time.

You write posts on the forum on one screen while you're moving your ship on the other ! (or tinker with eft, or return friends emails, or read the paper , or play two clients )

You guys are like the truck drivers of the future. Laid back group, eating at whatever greasy spoon diner they come across, doing speed boosters to stay awake on those long hauls.
Sorry they took down the Pleasure Domes. You guys have no entertainment now. I remember flying by and seeing rows of freighters parked outside of them. Although I would never see any Amarr freighters cause...they were all at the local gay bar.

Personally I find the rapier or the huggin as a better escort, the added range means that you don't have to risk bumping the freighter out of alignment as you get close enough to web it. |

Usually by having two or more screens, one with something entertaining or by having interesting music playing and being on voice comms with some friends. :\
Though for shorter trips nothing to entertain is needed.

Only do it every 90 days to collect orders and definately use main account in webbing ship. Pretty fast outside of the initial undock / align .
Far from fun but curiously theraputic compared to 1600 fleet fight lag.
I tend to either listen to bob marley or Corp mates pvp'ing to keep me awake though
