I thought it would be interesting to do some market research about recruitment.
The sheer amount of corps and alliances now has increased 100 fold in the past few years, making it harder and harder for corps and alliances to recruit.
There was a time when 0.0 access nevermind owning space was all you need to boost you numbers dramatically, however that has changed quite considerably, and its no longer a ticket for boosting you player base. Alot of the times people go purely by the influence sov map, you got a blob on there then thats where you should be, not entirely true but thats how peoples mind's work, even if you actually do have 0.0 sov but not shown on the map still makes a difference, perception it seems is whats at the forefront.

So i am interested to know and im sure alot of other corps/alliances are .

1) What makes you intially look at a the corp/alliance.
2) Hows does a recruitment advert attract you
3) What do you usually look for? PVP, ISK, 0.0, Station Access?
4) What the most important thing thats makes you say right im going to contact these guys..(what they can offer, reputation etc)
5) Where do you usually get recruited from? (friends, recommendations, forums, recruitment channel)

Anything else?
