Either its not being explained very clearly but I just recently had to download 2 gb and re enter the sisi address to get back on the test server, then after doing that the server has been down all the time so can't even log on. Now after still not being to get on sisi, its now saying incompatble build again and asking me to download another 2.6 gb....
Will it work this time? Am I missing something? Easier way to re patch?

Edited by: McMinerski on 04/06/2010 22:54:37 Having same issue and it is currently downloading the 2.6gb test server patch. I just installed this 4-5 days ago and now I have to sit thru another 2.6b dl? More info please CCP. I am taking time out of my regular game to learn more about PI for my corp/alliance and this is very inconvenient. Dos this have something to do with the last mass testing fixes? Mining is so much fun!!! |

Both of you are kinda doing it wrong.
Check the version number in the upper left of your test server and dl the patch manually via the download > patch > singularity and find the version number. If you cannot find yours do the following
Delete contents of current test server folder.
Copy your TQ folder into your test server folder, BUT do it carefully!!!!
I have found if you copy more than 2 file folders at a time, something does not copy right.
ALSO - the .stuff files are huge ranging from 20 mb - 300 mb in size. COPY THEM SLOWLY and in SMALL groups no bigger than 350-400 MB.
I have found trying to copy all the .stuff files at once will also corrupt them.
I have found if you tried to copy everything at once then it causes some problems.
After copying your TQ folder DL the TQ to SISI patch and install it manually.
There is no reason for you to download eve all the time.

You probably have faulty memory or some faulty driver or other corrupt operating system files. Those issues definitely should not occur. --

I just did all that and it didn't work. Now I am once again trying to trouble and Macgyver my way back onto SISI again.
Wasn't there once a "Tranq" and "Sisi" option way back when at the log in screen?
Edit:
Step 1.) Load up tranq and apply latest "hot patches" Step 2.) Delete old SISI folder, Copy/Paste new SISI folder Step 3.) Go to that website above and then manually upload the appropriate patch Step 4.) Profit
You have now Macgyver'd your way back on to SISI because CCP has made it stupidly over complicated.

THANKYOU
Worked simply and perfectly. Just make sure you install patch into your sisi folder and not your main TQ folder.
See that was simple enough, click on link, download 20-30mb, install for 2 minutes, job done. CCP you really should explain things clearer like this rather than getting the client to prompt your client base to re download 2.6 gb everytime....

It's quite simple really. You missed one of the SiSi patches, so the only way your client thinks it can get the correct version is to download the full installer.
Whenever you get prompted with a 2GB download, just re-copy TQ and patch from that. Or just don't miss the patches in the first place.

Or ccp could just not try to get players to download a 2.6 GB file they don't even need. Or just explain things in more detail for those that don't know.
And FYI this is a problem that came up for alot of people and no patches before hand were missed by me or alot of players. This problem occured twice in two patches even if patches before hand were not missed.
Solution is above in topic.
