Absolutely!! Maelstroms have one of the strongest tanks in game if fit correctly wasting that ability would be one of the dumbest moves possible.

Maelstrom were actually buffer tanked with artillery (commentator said so).

The ROF on the maelstroms tells me that it was autocannons.

Yes, commentators can never be wrong... and yup, one of the commentators keeps messing up 800mm REPEATING ARTILLERY with arties, while they're AC's.

They were running shield boosters.
I also am pretty sure they were running Autocannons - there's no way you'd see that many shots going off in that short a time if they were using artillery. In fact 3-4 seconds between shots is about right for 800mm IIs.

No he said that he thought thats what they were considering there was a scimi pilot in the fleet. they were arty fit thats for sure but they were most definitely active tanked effects dont lie and i am pretty sure the commentators dont have the teams fits right in front of them.

They did that in the match with the tempests as well - the guns were obviously firing too fast to be artillery. Someone tells me the commentators haven't tried the 2 x Tracking enhancer fits yet and are assuming that range = artillery.

well the scimitar was there to remote small ship and to prevent ennemy to target first a Bs, and all bs have a heavy self shield booster because only one logistic is allowed.
but after saw the fight, the scimitar was useless.
all small target had been burst quickly, and the logi didnt make earn some time or save ship, in fact with many BS, they'll probably try a setup without logistic and with more dps.
That's just showing that only one logistic in a fight is a bit useless, noone can save him, he cant dps, this tournament rules break doesnt match with the reality of eve fight.

I have respect for the commentators, while not quite TV, I'd be nervous as hell being broadcast live. That said, even I could tell they were boosting AC fit.
But meh, everyone makes mistakes!
In hindsight, obviously a good call!
