I saw this topic, and I just had to post.
So, you want someone to hold you by the hand and point you to some omber, so that you can mine it, yea? You don't actually want to look for it yourself, or use any resources to do so, you just want to be told where to go?
You can find lots of omber here
Seriously, internet spaceship mining is not that hard. EVE is the wrong game if you want to be held by the hand...

Better question: why the heck do you want to mine Omber? It is one of the absolute worst ores. You shouldn't waste your time on that garbage.

I found system named Decon. Omber in every belt with like 4 people in local on average. Professional scammer for unprofessional people. |

I'm pretty sure you can find Omber in Amamake. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Buy it at Jita. Clearly, mining is not for you. --

There's a load in U69-YC
I'll even buy it off you if you mine it --

If I remember, the largest omber asteroids are in the top belt, at 0.

Edited by: Edith Bunker on 07/06/2010 17:02:13 It cracks me up when people whine about omber and how "useless" it is. You nimrods have any idea how much omber you need to build anything bigger than a cruiser?

Edith, omber IS useless. Allow me to elaborate for you, since you're clearly uninformed.
Omber has a huge batch requirement. 500, iirc. That means you need 500 units to refine it once. Now, in that batch, you get tritanium, pyerite, and isogen. And you get them all at horrible ratios. So, you need to pack your crap, and move yourself to amarr space, so that you can mine kernite. Because kernite has a higher yield of isogen (the only reason i can possibly think of to even think about mining omber) plus it has the best yield of mexallon of any asteroid. And if you're worried about your pyerite, mine the scordite in amarr space too.
So unless you're simply unwilling to move your crap to amarr space, there's no reason to mine omber.
Hope this clears up your confusion...

Some storyline missions require 6000 omber. I suspect that is the OP's motivation.

If that is the case, I would still buy it instead, just due to time. Assuming I was doing this all by myself, in a Hulk with no fleet bonuses I'd get about 1500 m3 per minute. Omber is .5 m3 per unit, so that would work out to about 3000 Omber per minute, or enough to do 30 level 3 Materials For War Preparation in an hour of mining. Given the time required to move out where Omber is found, mine for an hour, and then move back with 90,000 m3 of ore, how much money could I make in the same time doing something else?
Even if you're just mining, mine whatever is most valuable where you are (was Scordite about 2 weeks ago, but haven't checked since), refine it, sell the minerals, then use the money to buy Omber instead. You can keep the profits. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

That's irrelevant.
ALWAYS Mine the ore with highest income rate available to you. Here is a good place to start. Mine scordite, sell pyerite, buy isogen. That's how smart people do it! Using this strategy you can acquire twice as much isogen than by mining omber.

No. You just run missions and buy the minerals that you need. You'll make more than mining.

There is plenty of Omber in Aralgrund
Also, try looking for hidden belts in high sec. They are pretty easy to find and tend to contain nice large rocks.
