When a war target quits his corp, the red war star remains, even though he's in a rookie corp. You should be allowed to shoot these people for 24hrs after they quit.
He was talking **** and silently quit corp, then undocked hoping i'd shoot him. luckily i had my concord warning on and my guns didn't fire...
Still, he should remain killable for 24hrs, or at the very least this red star should be removed.

So because overview was bugged (bugged overviews in my eve?) the wardec mechanisms should be changed instead of fixing the overview?

He was doing it on purpose, which is why it would have been funny if it worked.
Also, it is not a bug. It has something to do with the way the game refreshes itself, if you were to log off and back on again it would have righted itself. Kind of like when you set a corp to red, and you have to minimize local chat before you can physically see the change.
Also, it would have been funny if it worked.

Actually, if you have any roles (which is likely the case,) you would need 24 hours to quit your corp anyway. We don't want to double penalize the players who want to avoid wardecs.

If you really wanted to destroy him, you wouldn't care about security status and landed on top of him with a BS full of smart bombs possibly getting a head full of expensive implants. Instead of whining about it, do something proactive and stop trolling in the safety of CONCORD's arms where you need to wardec a corp instead of just randomly shooting people in lulsec.

Hopping in/out of a corp to cause confusion with regards to whether or not someone is at war with you is an exploit, just sayin >_> |

Bug report it if the overview does not update properly.
And no, if he is not in the wardecced corp any more, you should not get to shoot him legaly.

no. I think it should be that way regardless. You shouldnt be able to drop out of a corp and be out of war instantly, this encourages corp-hopping whenever someone gets dec'd
And in the likely event that ccp doesnt want to give it a 24hr cooldown (like every other situation, IE: faction warfare) then they should AT LEAST fix the overview bug.

No thanks.
The point of a wardec is to cause insecurities to a corp, causing their members to quit, and ultimately hoping the corp will disband.
When a character quits a corp, that means your war dec is a success and the corp members are leaving.
This also means you should NOT be able to kill him any more.
NPC corp comes with incredibly heavy penalty of almost a 6,000,000 ISK/HOUR penalty of earning which is incredibly high for mission runners. therefore, it should stay this way

That seems the appropriate way of action to me too.

Um yeah... that's called a bug. It's doing something that is incorrect (displaying war-target status). It doesn't matter if the bug is server or client side. It's still a bug.
