OK i know people will say I should put this in F and I but i would like to ask what the MD elitists think.
My idea is this : The ability to paint you ship different colors
cost X amount of is isk per m3
ie for a rifter which is 27,289 m3 and lets say it cost 10 isk per m3 it 270,289 isk to paint the ship a different color. or a Avatar 155,000,000 m3 would cost 1,550,000,000 isk.
ok i know that that is a lot of isk for a paint job but i think people would pay for it. they be a cool extra feature for the next expansion.
come on who wouldn't want a hot pink raven or a silver hulk.
so MD what do you think? would you pay to get you ship a new color and what would you pay?

Yes I would as much as I gave myself a cheesy medal (Public displayable of cause) While I would use it if it was available, the ability to execute this would be rather.... complex from a coding point of view. About the best that will happen is, Corp/Alliance logos on ships. Which would be great!
I would love to take it a step more and say, whoever built the ship, the corp/alliance it is in is a permanent feature on the ship, and in order to get it removed you must pay for it to be removed. (ISK SINK) I think it would be rather comical for two alliances to go head to head and see that on their ships they all came from the same manufacture, or even better still if a ship came from the enemy manufacture.. Oh the lulz would be had.

Edited by: Entrepaz on 08/06/2010 22:38:17 How come in ultima freaking online you could run around with a 256+ color scale pants on, shirt, scarf, armor etc, but in eve you can't paint your own ship?
Answer?
CCP doesn't care.

Well, of course we wouldn't get the option for 255R 255B and 255G, because this is EVE, grim future with black shaders and suns that burn your eyes, not paint jobs. So, to create an algorithm that determines whether or not a colour is 'eve' enough, or preset colors that everyone will be using. RED/BLACK, RED/RED, BLACK/RED.
Let's not have another Earth and Beyond.

Though i agree it would be much lolz had... it would be bad for business... I don't need Alliances boycotting Capitals ships :) ..

I think it could be a good idea to paint corp/alliance logo on ships (definatly the bigger ones), that is something I know I would pay for, could add an extra feature next to 'look at', look at logo or something like that, as for obvious reasons, u can't make it too big :p

THis is somewhat feasible and would shut the "custom ship skin" crowd the hell up, so i guess i support

CCP if you are reading this please add paint to the ships. You can start with one color per ship and if that works move it up to two. The colors on the ships right now are boring. And if necessary make a toggle so people don't have to see the colors whether they just don't want to see the colors or if they can't have that good grapics. it would only take up a bit of data on the servers. In conclusion so many people want this design for ships you need to add colors.
