You can use two monitors. I have 2 monitors, one i use to have the game on (windowed mode) and another i have for other work. i dont think that you can span eve across 2 monitors unless you have a state of the art graphics card, as it would take a lot of perforamnce power to display a dynamic image on 2 seperate outputs. id stick with playing eve on one monitor

you can use 2 monitors if you enable the nView software and enable maximising across 2 windows. although you will be betta off with 3 then your ship aint split between 2 monitors.

It's very sad that you can't use 2 monitors directly with eve. Great would be: First monitor: Eve Second: Scanner, Map or Overview. But i guess its hard to realise, because most graphic cards tell the system they are 2 seperate cards. exception: nvidia geforce. Maybe in future the will be changes. But i doupt thats a primary target for CCP. Too bad :/

You can span Eve on a single card across 2 but I use AGP+PCI card+windowed mode.
Eve runs very well even on a PCI ATI 9000 but does have problems with head selection sometimes. As stated above I would also dream of a day where you could place all the clutter on 1 screen and have another for the main view.
Oh what sweet joy that would be.

I used to play in full-screen mode across two 19" LCDs... worked great, but I had to crank down all the options to the minimum. Now I play in windowed mode with 2 accounts simultaneously (usually) and the options cranked up, newer box and card that can handle it a lot better. If you don't mind turning off a lot of options, the dual-monitor fullscreen option gives you a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of real-estate to work with.

With great difficulty. Either you need a specialist card like the ones Matrox do (which then leaves you with poor 3D performance), or you can try the dual-card use of SLI boards. There are also some proprietary solutions, but they cost a fortune.
The dual-card SLI basically involves getting an SLI motherboard, 2 dual-output SLi-compatible nvidia cards, plug the whole lot it, but don't enable SLI in the nvidia drivers. That should let windows see the two cards as seperate cards rather than one SLI device. You should in theory then be able to use all the outputs on all the cards (the outputs on the secondary card are disabled in proper SLI mode), so you could rig up 4 monitors.
Of course, I'm not certain if this actually works in practice, or how well it works!
EDIT: Of course, there's always the good old solution of using a secondary PCI graphics card too!

Edited by: Caillech on 09/02/2005 16:37:00 Its fully possible to play EVE with 2 monitors ..even in fullscreen atleast on Geforce Gt6600, you just need to setup nView to horizontal span, then launch EVE ..and pick resolution like 2520x1960 or whatever
Only thin that sucks is that the Ship UI gets split in the middle between the 2 monitors etc ... maybe it would be possible to mvoe the loc of the UI by hackin the .res files HEY! who said that! ... I sure didnt! cause thats bad mmmmkay ....

I do use 2 monitors,
My laptop display panel in windowed mode at screen resultion. (nice widescreen format :P)
I then run a secondary monitor on the VGA output, for IM, email etc...
works well.. :D ------------------------- DEFEND THE EMPEROR - Join us! Evemail, or visit http://www.amacor.co.uk/isgdforum |

Is it not possible then to run two accounts simultaneously on two different screens, in FULLSCREEN mode? at the moment when I try and put one of my accounts into full screen mode it blacks out the other monitor...

of course it will your computer still has one processor. unless you running 2 machines it wont happen. but you can work on by adjusting the resolution and the screen positioning its fine for me eve open fully on each monitor. 2xMSI 128mb 6600gt PCI-E

Is it possible to setup 1x agp and 2x pci cards for a 3 monitor system.
i know windows will support 3 screen setups this way.. and eve will play any available window size do you think it would be possible to make a window large enough to span all 3 monitors and have the graphics cards support it?
in theory it should work, and ive heard of some 3 gpu cards working on some games, what do you all think?
