Ok, so help a confused guy out.
I have Refining and Refining Eff at 5, as well as lvl 1 in most of the lower ore speciality skills. I've been refining forever but haven't really thought about this much before.
At npc stations it says "our services provide x% yield" or something similar. The ones I see are 50% and 30%. I get 99.5% yield when my skills are combined with that, or so it says.
Does that 50% thing mean I'm only getting half the possible minerals in ore? I've never seen higher so I'm assuming there isn't like 75% or anything. Does that mean that 99.5% number is being applied to that 50% or everything possible out of the ore?
TIA for any info on these subjects.

NPC stations either have a 50% or 30% *base* refining efficency. Your standing with the owners of the station and skills are taken into account to generate the final refining efficency.
In your case you are getting 99.5% (50% base + 49.5% from skills and standing) of all possible minerals.

The 50% is just the stations ability then without any refining skills you can get it up to 87.5% or something and then lvl 5 refining and refining eff gets you to 99.5%. Plus, since you have lvl 1 in some speciality skills you should get 100% minus 5% station tax unless you have good standing with them and that will go down. The 30% stations you can't get 100% even with max skills. I haven't seen anything over 50%.

you should be able to get 100% if you have the specific processing skill to lvl 5.

you should be able to get 100% if you have the specific processing skill to lvl 5.

((station refining %)+(0.75*Refining*RE*specific))-(station fee)

The best you can get in a 30% station with maxed 5/5/5 skills is 91.88%
The 32.5% stations gets you 94.38%, and a 50% station gets 100% easily (although the actual yeild if it were possible to go over 100% - for those curious souls who care about such things - is 111.88%)
