Just curious how involved some people are getting with this PI... is 20 planets considered a large setup? small? medium? Inquiring minds want to know... FWIW I am sitting on 22 planets atm.

Well... you're limited by Interplanetary Consolidation to only 6 CC's a a time, which therefore limits you to a maximum of 6 planets per character at a time. At the moment I have 4 planets colonized. Tomorrow at about noon local time I'll be adding my 5th, completing my chain for Integrity Response Drones.

5 planets to complete the whole chain? I'm aiming for the same end product, but am waiting on my alt, adding to my current 4, to have 9 planets in total for the same p4 chain.
I am in high sec and running 4 BIF's & 2/3 AIF's per planet, so perhaps when I'm fully set I might be producing at twice the rate? but care to share your set up?

Yes I am aware of this limit.. I never said I was using only one account. Even if someone started training Interplantary Consolidation as soon as it was made available it is impossible for them to be able to handle 6 planets yet... maybe in a week or so someone will have 6 planets per pilot. I have 6 pilots with 2-5 planets each right now and have 2 more pilots training. As soon as they can handle Advanced Command Centers they will be assisting my other 6. I am just curious if someone has a bigger setup than this, I am sure there are some who do but just how much bigger.....

Well I've only got one or two planets optimized at this point. There are two reasons I'm on five planets:
ò I'm using low sec planets as opposed to 0.0
ò I'm only extracting raw materials from planets that offer them in the largest deposits. IE, even though Gas, Temperate and Oceanic planets offer Aqueous Liquids, I'm only getting it from the planet that has the highest quantities.
But, like I said, only a couple planets are optimized in their chains :P I have some REALLY messy ****, and some that is just plain crappy. But I've done some planning for when I'm ready for Elite CCs and I'll have very organized chains and oodles of room for another production chain perhaps :D

(5) planets on one character, most of them producing a mix of P1/P2 output, with one planet setup as a P2/P3 factory complex.
(4) planets on the second character, mix of P1/P2 output, one planet is also a P2/P3 factory complex
I have plans to setup another 6-8 planets over the next week, probably low-maintenance P1 harvesting using 23h extractors.
Average investment per planet is in the 6-8M ISK range (including the Advanced PCC).

Currently have 4 characters running 19 command centers (#20 tomorrow). I'm focusing on P2 right now, so once my last is set up tomorrow that'll be 62 advanced processors pumping out 310 P2/hour or 7440 P2/day.
Tbh I'm mostly doing it because its new and shiny right now, I'll probably reduce down to 2 characters making mostly P4 in a month or so.

22 colonies set up so far. 2 toons almost finished IC IV, which will add another 2 colonies. 4 toons with a week to go until CC Upgrades V. Not sure if I'll train them up to IC V (which would allow me to create a total of 34 colonies).
I don't plan on spending all my Eve time going from toon to toon, planet to planet, importing/exporting/trading resources all day long. I've already got 164 extractors running, and will soon be upgrading most of my current CCs (16 of them to Elites). That will add a lot of extractors to the mix, and take up a lot more of my playing time to manage.
