You have no grounds to report me and furthermore you are spamming my threads with off topic replies.
I asked a question. I thought for sure Spacebook would allow for skill adjustment. I was disappointed when i found out it doesnt and wanted someone to elaborate on that point.
Maybe others thought the same.

The original plan was to expand gatefacespace functionality eventually, or SoonÖ, or maybe before the next ice age, whichever might be sooner. Give it a couple of years of no-show, then you can start getting worried they're neglecting it.

Why are you mad because you listened to "Previous player posts"?
No where on this site from offical channels did I ever read that you will (at launch anyway) be able to change skills from evegate. I have herd they are against out of game skill changes as it encourages player to not bother logging in...result?? empty game. <<this was stated YEARS ago...ill admit things do change.
I love how CCP brings out a patch/product/skill or whatever and then people get ****ed cuz THEY pulled some functionality outa thin air and are mad cuz its not part of said patch/product/skill or whatever.
CCP: "Hey everyone heres a banana!" Random Forumnaught jams banana in his ear: "WTF it doesn't play MP3s...I got to cry about this on the forums...people there care!!" -----------------------------------------------------

For goodness' sake, even if you're not just trying to .. well god knows what it is if not trolling, but I've long since ceased to believe these idiot threads are altruistic, the question is just stupid and you should know full well the answer:
EVE Gate has only just been deployed, and the Dev's have stated it'll be developed over time, with skill control a future possibility.
Your question is on par with 'So why can't I use EVE Gate to play the market, refit my ships and play with my planetary colonies? I WANT EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW'.
Honestly.. I don't know if it's more or less annoying your trolling is actually literate and coherent. Or more sad the possibility you actually aren't trolling yet asking such stupid, provocatively deployed questions in earnest, given how knowledgeable and experienced a player you profess to be. Lord alive..

Thanks for the compassionate reply.
I merely wanted to confirm if it was rumor, fact or gossip that skills adjusting would be/was supposed to be a pert of Spacebook. But you all are just so far above me in intellect that I shadow in comparison to your massive internet imaginary spaceship knowledge.
..and for those too slow to catch on, Im being ****ing sarcastic.

Previous player posts prior to Tyrannis led me to believe so.
1. Because they want people to play the game, and skillhandling is gameplay.
2. To reduce the posibillity for character farming from the website.
Or so I heard. I would personally be shocked if CCP made it possible to set skills through a website...

The reason why skill changing is not available on EVE Gate at present can be found in CCP Priya's most recent Dev Blog in which she says:
"On your character page you can view your character sheet, skill status and all the information on your character that is displayed in the Show info window in game."
as well as:
"Our plan is to eventually offer everything on EVE Gate that you can do in game apart from explorations in space and blowing stuff up."
So that is why skill changing is currently not available through EVE Gate. Currently you can view skills in this first iteration of EVE Gate. Perhaps this functionality will be available at some stage but be sure to check out future Blogs to get the full information

I suppose you can all draw on that extensive expertise gained in convincing people that you got rid of macros to convince us that this won't lead to ever more sophisticated, particularly trading, macros.

Yes, surely the macros will just up and give up, rather than adapting, which they seem much better at doing then most of the people on this forum.

I sure hope you guys are going to reconsider that. What's the point of never having to log into the game again? This will kill small-medium corps, if you have 70 members 30 are alts and the most you see online at one time are 10 at the most, if you're lucky....

Ship spinning in the station, which is the thing I would bet people do the majority of their online-time isn't exactly a much better alternative.

Unlikely you'll ever be able to change your skill training through EVE-Gate for the same reason that there is a 24 hour limit on the Training Queue. When they placed the Training Queue in the game CCP said they didn't want to make it longer than that for fear people would simply set long traing sessions and not log in. They said, "We want people to play the game".
If people can adjust their skill training from outside the game, they're less likely to actually log in and play the game. When you log in to do a simple thing like adjust your skill training you often become interested in some other aspect of the game and stay longer than you originally intended.
However, if the social networking aspect of EVE-Gate takes off, it may well work out to the point that skill training adjustments through EVE-Gate will not be seen as a threat to people actually playing the game. i.e. EVE-Gate may actually draw people into the game through the EVE-Gate chat functions.

Thank you for the reply Navigator. Wondering if this will ease some of the strain off the servers. If people log in just to make market adjustments, contracts and skill adjustment a lot of trouble can be saved if it could be done via eve-gate. I know there are times I log in just for those things and never undock.

As someone else said, you went out of your way to get yourself perceived as a proliferate troll, and that combined with the smug deployment of your questions and how generally easily they could be answered with a glance at the information readily available from this website (especially that one about pods..), it's going to be a bloody long time before you've got our trust back.
Smug? Just how to you read smugness in printed next? You have no idea what my tone is so it must be the voice in your head that is smug.
And exactly who the **** are you or anyone here that I need to gain their trust? It's a general discussion forum for eve players, not a dating site.

Well there's the next semi-useless expansion feature right there I like to post too, but sometimes i don't know what to say. So i just post something random like this post. But on the other hand, it might just all be a large signature. |
