Edited by: just saaaaad on 14/06/2010 09:37:13 Edited by: just saaaaad on 14/06/2010 09:35:52 I know topic was very hot during hulkageddon and there were countless threads redgarding protection from suicide gankers, but im not sure if anyone actually suggested this idea : get your rookie ship and warp to a belt where you want to do some mining. As soon as you do that, target ANYTHING (by anything i mean anything that will get you GCC'd and CONCORDed) and start firing. Concord warps in, pops your ship and STAYS in that location. Now for a price of brandy new rookie ship (....) you have Concord ships right next to you, and instead 10 seconds - or so from the moment you are attacked to the moment when concord warps in and starts jamming the ganker you have an instant Concord response, thanks to those Concord ships guarding you. As soon as your GCC is finished you can go and mine there. I'm not exactly sure how Concord team dispatched to just one ganker would perform against multiple gankers, but even if they can jam just one at a time thats not much of a problem - as far as i know Concord sends one team per each ganker. So if you want to be extra careful against multiple opponents just get your buddy or mate to do it with you at the same time, and you have more Concord teams on stand-by. Security status hits would be a problem though... Anyway im not sure if its a valid method, maybe theres a catch i didnt notice. What do you guys think?

Its an exploit to purposely seed the belts with concord using an alt.

Is it an exploit doing it using alt or doing it at all?

I'm pretty sure you are able to pre-spawn concord in your belt.
However...
The only part of this that is regarded as an exploit is you then 'Trash' that alt character when he reaches -5 sec status or whenever hes not allowed in the system of choice, and then make a new alt. Rinse-repeat for exploitation. _____________________________

This is (AFAIK) also the case with suicide ganking alts, but I was pretty sure that if you got petitioned after seeding a repeatedly seeding the belts with concord then you'd be warned by the GM's...might petition it and get back to this thread.

It's an exploit and has been discussed to death.

Edited by: Herufaia on 14/06/2010 11:54:05 Recycling suicide alts is considerd an exploit - whether you use them to gank for profit, fun or to spawn concord in a belt as a protective measure.
However - you would not need to keep rolling new alts, as a -10 alt in a friggy would be able to get down into the belt and get a shot off (thus triggering concord) before the navies catch up with him.
Spawning concord in a belt is an old technique, and is semi effective.
It will not help against smartbombers, alpha strikes, or large numbers of small craft

I thought CONCORD dispatched a new group of NPCs for every agressive act, and that ones that had already spawned did nothing.

It is NOT an exploit....
... when you pay a new player to do it :)
It is a perfectly valid form of gameplay to pay a player to do a "task". Suicide run or whatever.
New players need isk, want isk. Pay them 20m.

I agree with my partner in crime, its an exploit.
Just because Concord is at the belt does not mean you are safe. Many of my clients learned that fact the hard way. PRAISE THE SCOTTISH FOLD!!

Sure, then add another 20 mil lost when the miner gets ganked anyways, it is still very doable to gank with concord present. PRAISE THE SCOTTISH FOLD!!

It is not an exploit if you use, lets say, a bantam to spawn concord. As long as you loose actual ISK. No matter how small. _______________________ We come for our people! |

Edited by: Miilla on 15/06/2010 14:10:34 As long as you are not evading any mechanics, its is a valid form of gameplay.
If CCP have a problem with people exploiting mechanics, they can fix their mechanics to work as it should. Not pass off buck onto players.
The blame lies with CCP, not the players if we want to get to the root cause.

Suicide ganks can never form a solution. One or more ships will always explode and form a precipitate.

Edited by: howthefuq on 15/06/2010 17:39:46 LOL at this idea. When i lived in Ihak and ran around with IDLE some 6 months ago, we popped 2 hulks with Concord sitting 10 feet away. http://idleempire.griefwatch.net/?p=details&kill=30237 is the proof. Theres still a delay from when they'll actually start slapping all the suicide gankers with the pwn stick.
