Hello everyone,
i am currently in the process of training for a Hulk, and as we all know, mining at the moment is not very good, in terms of mineral prices.
What other options do I have open to me to make some money?

Making ISK. That might give you some basic ideas. Feel free to ask details if something catches your eye.

Perhaps one should look in the Resource Thread for the link to guides for new players, a guide to making ISK is amongst the reading.

Trading->Scamming->Missioning->Mining
The most risk free, least time intensive one would definitely be missioning.

Made 4 mil in 3 days with a trial account. No skills, basic equipment, checking the colony twice per day max to haul/sell. That's 40mil/month out of nowhere.
Could get 500mil/month with good planets/skills/a lot of time invested.

When you say 'scamming' do you actually mean scamming people out of ISK?
i take it that this kind of scamming and stuff is acceptable due to the 'sandbox' approach of eve?

Scamming is considered a completely valid tactic, but naturally, it's looked down upon.

Edited by: Kahega Amielden on 14/06/2010 20:24:19 Yes. Scamming and stealing of pretty much any kind is allowed and that's a viable way of making money, but it's also a good way to **** people off and make enemies.
The best way for a new player that I can think of is ninjasalvaging (shameless plug). If you need help, there's an ingame chat channel (The Ninja Alliance) which is generally full of people who are willing to help.

Kahega's suggestion is the most fun of the lot - it gets you out there using probing, flying small ships, interacting with other players, and learning to use the market to make ISK.

Too often I try to be as nice as possible to people I run into (yeah, I'm a carebear), but this actually has me interested. Perhaps if I create an alt at some point...

Are u sure?? , cos I just made a billion isk in the last two weeks trading, being afk most of the time, simply setting autopilot on to transport trade goods from one trade route to another, (No obelisk involved which new players have no access to)
Missioning is pretty time intensive compared to that, and unlike transporting trade goods on autopilot, you can't be afk during a mission
