The image fades from black, showing the inside of an impossibly clean assembly hall with gentle, curving Gallentean architecture rendered in antiseptic whites and pale blues. A sublayered timestamp indicates this video was captured only a few moments ago. In the center of the shot stands a podium in front of an enormous trisectioned window, the infinite horizon of a gas giant world visible beyond the glass-armor. Tan and rust-colored clouds swirl outside, illuminated by the distant light of a radiant orange sun.
A grey-haired Intaki man approaches the podium and turns toward the camera and the small audience present in the hall. He is dressed in exquisite blue and white robes accented in gold, and when he draws his sleeves back, distinctly Vherokior tribal tattooing is visible on his right arm down to the wrist. The man clears his throat and begins a short prepared speech.
Colleagues, customers, investors, welcome. Today is a happy day in the history of our company. After months of effort and sacrifice we are finally prepared to reignite the fires of scientific knowledge that guide all our endeavors. We are ready to begin again the work of improving lives and livelihoods. It is with great respect to the progress that has already been made and with great hope for the wonders yet to be achieved that I announce the relaunch of the Ophidian Corporation as a truly international organization. From these new headquarters, high in the clouds, we will tirelessly seek new knowledge and practical applications for making human lifetimes longer, healthier, and happier.
We will dedicate the fullness of our resources to making a truly better life for all. Thank you.
The man bows slightly to the audience in the hall and walks away from the podium to the sound of applause in the chamber. An aid or follow-up speaker can be seen approaching the podium from the other direction as the image fades to black. An embedded link connects to a press release related to this video.
