The majority of miners getting ganked will not be macro-miners, and in fact, will have not heard of the hulkageddon announcement whatsoever. Sucks to be them. This is a gank-fest, nothing more, and new players will be prime target. I think somebody missed Triple Entendre's point right there. This is not a gank-fest. People have had ample warning about this, especially miners and anybody who frequent the forums and see the blaringly "HULKAGEDDON" thread title in crime and punishment section. I'm pretty certain miners who log into the forums will have to go through the main page (where they clearly display all known forum sections including their science and industry section). This thread has been popping up uber frequently, so they're bound to do a bit of a double take and check it out just in case. If they are mining during the week of hulkageddon, either they've realized that: A) They don't care, because they're cautious anyway and EVE taught them about a game where the aim is to climb to fame and fortune in any way possible - even if it's at the cost of other players. B) They're macro miners C) They ignore all blatant announcements of it, even the stamp of dev approval, and all the other potential announcements of excited EVE-goers. D) They're macro miners. See? 50/50. Whine and cry all you like, but in the end, if you choose to not participate, you might end up as collateral. I personally intend to enjoy this time as much as possible (and profit), though it may be at the expense of a few of my miner buddies.
