NEW EDEN ù It was just over a month ago that Sansha Kuvakei resurfaced, calling for support from New EdenÆs capsuleer population and orchestrating a series of daring raids into sovereign ôempireö space.
For nearly two weeks capsuleers banded together to stave off these incursions, the purpose of which is still not fully known. A chilling characteristic of the raids by the forces of SanshaÆs Nation was the abduction of planetary populations, sometimes as many as 2 million in a single mass abduction.
Following the initial raids there was a two-week period of relative quiet, but this week the incursions resumed with Nation forces appearing in the Ardallabier and Isanamo Systems.
Gen. Seriphyn Inhonores is both a veteran of the fight against the Nation and victim of its activities. Inhonores lost his son and the childÆs mother to a raid. The pair resurfaced, apparently genetically fused into a new being days later.
Inhonores theorized that the lull in Nation activity was likely a tactical move.
ôI imagine Nation were reconsolidating their logistics and power projection capabilities,ö he said. ôTheir initial strikes, spanning multiple attacks over ten days, would probably have drained their ability to maintain their attacks further.ö
Sources on the ground at Ardallabier put the number of abducted at 110,000. This is somewhat light in comparison to earlier raids and Inhonores noted that it could have been much worse.
ôThe planet that was attacked, however, was a major Federal megalopolis world, so these numbers are negligible to the many billions on the planet,ö he said.
There are conflicting reports on the battle in Isanamo. Nation loyalists claim 80,000 people were taken, but capsuleer forces that repelled the attack indicated that Nation dropships did not complete their run and aborted prior to a retreat.
Inhonores said that while many of the capsuleers who had joined forces to oppose Nation efforts had dispersed, a group had remained vigilant and were ready to continue the fight. Not every capsuleer is on his side, however.
Following the return of Sansha Kuvakei, a number of pod pilots took up his call and have worked in direct opposition of the capsuleer effort to stop Nation incursions. Others, like the pilot known as Ghost Hunter, have long supported KuvakeiÆs vision of Utopia.
HunterÆs corporation, True Slave Foundations, was founded nearly three years ago. According to Hunter, the group is ôdedicated to serving all interests of Nation.ö
ôMore so, we are interested in building the foundation for a better tomorrow - hence our namesake,ö he added.
While he did not elaborate on the nature of his communication with Kuvakei, Hunter did indicate that his organization is following orders.
ôUnity overcomes all distances, time and space,ö he said. ôWhen Master calls, I answer.ö
Hunter also decline to comment on the manner in which planetary populations are collected. The mystery of how so many people could be taken in such a relatively small amount of times has been a source of consternation for many. Hunter placed the number of abducted at approximately 10 million.
ôWe come to bring unity and salvation. We save those long forgotten - long abandoned by their 'precious' empires,ö Hunter said. ôWe give them everything denied to them by their hollow masters. Love, happiness, purpose, unity - community.ö
Hunter went on to say that the public at large has misconstrued NationÆs actions, which have actually been defensive in nature.
ôNation is not a malicious entity. Warfare is a terrible art we must use to defend ourselves against our enemies,ö he said. ôNation's mission remains the same it was at its creation - Peace and prosperity, harmony and unity.ö
Gen. Inhonores disagreed with this assessment and said for those who are not interested in NationÆs version of peace and unity the best thing to do is to continue to follow their daily routines.
