Hi, I am new to the game. I already love the Eve but I do not know exactly what I should be doing. I would like to eventually do PVP but I don't know what I should do to make money with so many options available. I would appreciate some advice to help me make a decision.
I like the idea of mining but it seems like "end-game" mining would get quite boring. Wouldn't it be literally the same thing with just a different type of ore compared to what I am doing now? Plus the time taken to train skills -- for lets say a mining barge -- would take time away from training skills for PVP, correct?
I was also looking at salvaging but it seems like isk would be unstable and slow, at least outside of ninja salvaging.
Any suggestions for a career that would couple well with a military pilot? I don't want to rely solely on doing missions for isk. That way I will have some variety in the game besides just destroying things. Thanks for your help!

Many of the mission skills transfer across to PvP quite well. Tanking, energy management, etc. Higher level missions will give you a good income, while providing at least some entertainement at first.

Trade. Either in-station or between regions. You'll need to invest a bit of capital to get started properly. About 100mil should do it.
