Take a pat on the back CCP as youve finally broken the camels back. It is no longer worth mining at all now it used to be well sorta worth now youve absolutely decimated it. Armaggedons in Jita 32 million, I can understand those who use mining marco's now as its the only way you can make it profitable.
CCP how about banning the remaining macro miners then you can totally destroy eve as we know it.
I'm so glad there's a heap of new mmo's coming out soon cause CCP ive had it with you lot.

How exactly removing macro miners would destroy EVE as we know it?

Wrong, the destruction of mining as a profession is down to massive over production from because of years of buffing and macro miners.
Insurance has been propping up that dead horse for years.
You should be demanding...
1) Unholy Rage II. 2) A huge mineral sink.

Nah, for some reason it seems NC got some of their ships back... make of it what you will but it seems the lagdeath reimb rules are applied differently for NC to the rest of the population.

Not quite sure what you mean, mining is still quite profitable to me.

Let me see if I understand this right.
You have ships, equipment, skills and implants that provide you the ability to mine a lot more than it used to be possible, at least twice as much to my knowledge. You have minerals like tritanium worth 2 or 3 times as much as they used to be.
You have battleship sized ships priced at very low levels.
Your life is easier than ever.
You complain.
Does not compute.

What about: Just ban the macro miners -> less supply/same demand will make prices rise -> more profit for miners and manufacturing.
So just ban the macro miners and leave the insurance nerf as it is. Problem solved.

CCP won't ban macro users or scammers as they would be losing money from the loss of those accounts. Many people present evidence of people who macro, or are at least very likely too, and nothing is ever done. Unholy Rage, sadly, was likely just for show |

Edited by: Opertone on 18/06/2010 12:37:11 Macro mining, makes non macro mining less profitable and non competitive.
Macro mining is using automated bots, unmanned game interaction. Either modify eve to not work with MACRO scripts by forcing some protected environment mode or make bot behavior less likely to succeed without player interaction.
A normal player can not mine more than 2 hours straight. His profits need to be higher or equal to other activities, simply a) to motivate, b) give the opportunity for mining to become more challenging.
First, not all asteroid should contain the same amount of OREs, it should be randomly distributed still. Only roid scanner and good scanning skills would give estimates on where ORE (mineral rich substance) actually is.
Mining barren rocks would become income less activity. Searching for good asteroids would require players to actively seek roids.
Asteroid belts should be system wide, moving and drifting as suggested previously.
Probing space for hidden roid fields (which drift across galaxy anyway) and luck would be required to find Mineral Rich asteroids. Regular belts should contain more dust than substance.
Deep core mining skills and lasers should be required to get to the core of the rock. Thus challenging the players to bring different equipment to get extra profits.
Random Minerals spawning in space should be cut down, refining should take time, refining things such as Modules, Drone alloys should take extra time.
It will make industry exciting, planned activity rather than income less boring macro bot routine.

Edited by: Lifelongnoob on 18/06/2010 14:17:39 i mine ore often
i can build capitals
mining then building capitals makes me isk
i do it when im relaxing as its easy... just lock, mine until rock pops, then drag into orca and when full haul back... simple
i mine ice when my pos screams at me or i need jump drive fuel.
the rest of the time im either ratting or mission running... occasionally i die horribly in a poor attempt to pvp or when the lag monster eats my ship and my fleet members too :P

You have to take into consideration that this is EVE Online though, and as a result, people will whine about everything no matter how illogical their whining is.

The fact you group macro users and scammers together, shows that you have the general intelligence of a marauding flip-flop.

Back in 2003 trit was 1 isk, pye 2isk... megacyte reached a historical high of about 10 to 20K isk IIRC. I stand correct.
You talk of "not profitable" is bull. The only thing that goes into mining is time, unless, I think (I don't mine) you use those tech 2 crystals. There's no such thing as unprofitable. You always mine something, you will always be able to sell it for a price.
Not being able to turn of a profit is like, me buying a ship to do some leet plexing and then loosing the ship before I make more than it cost. But that's not macroers fault, that's my fault for being a looser.

Ill take responsibility for this. he saw my awesomee expose thread about how insurance was an artifical price cap on ships, and as ships are made fo minerals, it puts anautomatic price cap on minerals as well, in the ratio that the minerals are needed to make the ship.
So in summation, my threadnaught is what brought him to his senses and why he posted his concern. yay me! There's 1, repeat 1, frigate in the T1 lineup designed to be a suicide tackler. the rest are for COMBAT. so don't tell me to tackle when I'm in a combat T1 frig. OR tell CCP to fix their mess. |
