Today I was at work spacing-out when I somehow connected alliance strength/stability to eve ships(particularly ship defenses).
Shields: In a group of players the Shield amount is measured in on-hand disposable isk of the group or of the individuals of the group. The more isk, the more buffer the group has. The more income a group has, the higher it's shields regen. Shield resistance in this analogy is expressed with pilot skill. The higher the pilot skill, the slower the isk/shield is lost.
Armor: Armor in the group is infrastructure; assets that have been put into place, sovereignty, or programs that are on-going and provide utility to the members of the group. The assets when lost do not get restored without active effort:an armor repper if you will. The armor is not usually hit until after shields have failed, but bleed damage can occur.
Capacitor: Simply Morale. If your members are in high spirits and are avoiding negative propaganda, MWDs are on full speed. With low morale your active hardeners may lapse a few cycles, your reppers may be slow.
Hull: Group Member Loyalty. How many members does the group have that will stick around when the shields and armor are gone, and all you have going is that you haven't gone "pop" yet.
Weapons: The compositions available to the fleet and the tactics chosen to use with those compositions.
Any thoughts? How is your group fit? -áFREE Iamien !!!!! |

I agree the analogy is appropriate.
Which is what many don't understand: a frigate can destroy a super-cap. Eve forums official anthem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pudOFG5X6uA-áReal men tank hull. Fake women shield-tank Gallente. |

Actually, no, it really can't. It can't tackle a supercap, and downtime would kick in well before it was anywhere near dieing, assuming the super had no shield regen and was AFK.
A frigate can beat a battleship however. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

10,000 rifters I bet would alpha a Titan if they all fired at once. figure using typical rifter design... that is 30,000 autocannons and another 10,000 rockets. that is a lot of "Dakka"
Of course if the Titan had a smartbomb that would kill the node.
Back onto the main feed....
the comment though about one T1 frigate can kill the whole thing is right though, one well placed spy can bring down whole alliances, I think there has been more than one "Crowning Moment of Awesome" in which a mere handful of people have crumbled EVE empires from the inside. EVE is like swimming on a beach in shark infested waters,-á There is however a catch...-á The EVE Beach you also have to wonder which fellow swimmer will try and eat you before the sharks. |

I refer you to a number of posts above that do seem to understand the non-literal nature of the comment, and see that I meant that the very small can indeed bring down the very big.
It isn't easy.
But it has happened. Even to the goons. That is the beauty of eve. Eve forums official anthem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pudOFG5X6uA-áReal men tank hull. Fake women shield-tank Gallente. |

New Analogy:
Corporations are like breakfast cereal.
Some are healthy, some are chocolatey, some are rainbows of fruit flavors.
New ones spring up all the time, but they're just variations of the same things.
The older original ones are usually the better ones.
None of them stay crispy in milk after a couple hours.
