I am disappoint. Gob got screwed over by Pandemic Legion on the tournament prize last year, and so it would have been dramatic if Hydra wound up fighting Pandemic later. CCP have screwed up big time IMHO on a chance for tournament drama.

It's nature of eve players to try to bend, exploit and twist rules. After all Eve as a game encourages such, being painfully lifelike. Even more twisting are the devs who have designed this game, so of course they have gates on the system...
Or it's another of those "Yeah we totally didnt expect this would happen, it's only happened in x tournaments before this one, surely it doesnt happen next year."

Yep, I know that but once again, thats not on the rules page! So, they cant start applying ban on unwrited rules!
What is moraly not accepted doenst mean that must have penalties! Thats why theres oficial rules and they are writen and take to the knowladge of everyone. But seems they forgot this one! :P

Ok now I get it. Hydra is imitating the actions of an eccentric person in a different world championship. The World Chess Championship with Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky.
Here are some similarities:
Both events took place in Iceland.
Like Bobby Fischer, Hydra forfeited a round.
Both forfeits were against a widely respected opponent.
Both forfeits were for what can only be described as convoluted reasoning.
Both exhibit signs of paranoia Bobby insisted that they play the chess games in backroom instead of the main stage with the cameras. Now it appears Hydra feels the need to scout surrounding systems for fear that some blob may be lurking there ready to blow up their expensive stealth bombers.
Both Bobby and Gob have ôobö in their names. (just sayin)
Both Bobby and Hydra cause referees everywhere to roll their eyes.
Both Bobby Fischer and Hydra cause many people to rage.
Both Bobby and the hydra team only wore corduroy pants and striped sport shirts until their 21st birthday.
Predictions:
If hydra ends up winning this tournament we can expect them to do things like:
Never play eve again for decades.
Yet they will only open eve mail (or respond to chats) if it starts by addressing them as ôThe Undisputed Current, and True Eve World Champion [fill in name]ö e.g., ôThe Undisputed, Current and True Eve World Champion Shigsyö
They will say that eve is dead (eft theory killed it) and they will furthermore only play ôshuffle eveö û A game where you are placed in random ships with random modules at the start of the fight.
They will claim that all the future eve tournaments are prearranged by the Russians.
They will join the Radio Church of God
They will be banned from their native country for playing a come back eve tournament against an aged agony team, in a country with economic sanctions.
They will be the envy of nerds for decades to come.

Gobbins anchored a warp disrupt bubble, rules specifically prohibit anchoring anything - claw is perfectly justified in banning him from the tournament for that alone
disobeying GMs / jumping instead of going where he says is naughty but kinda moot and probably just served to make claw less inclined to be lenient
