I'm planning to buy a cyclone when I get the chance.
Was thinking about:
5x Light Neutron 3x Heavy Launcher
1x 100mn AB 1x Webber 1x Scrambler 1x Cap recharger
1x Medium armor rep II 2x Hardener 1x 1600mm Nanofiber -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |

I have tried both the 5 720 setup and the 5 425 setup.
For deadspace missions, the autocannon setup is much better due to the fact the grid allows you to oversized ABs. That would be immaterial now with the patch on the way.
Still I personally prefer the autocannon setups, since NPCs are so much harder to hit now. You're basically toast with a sniper setup when warp scrambling inties get to you closee enough.
Though drones and missiles can be used to fight off inties and frigate scramblers/webbers, I prefer the AC setups because it's just a lot more fun and scary. It can also dual for a PvP setup, as it is quite devastating.
I loved a particular deadspace mission when all these Serpentis Guardians come rushing to me to me close. So I play their game, wait till they come within 10km, then web them and watch the named 425s rip them apart.

Well me and a few others seem to have a good shield tanking set up which gives a stupid amount of cap to In the lows we use 3 power diags as these multiply on the existing shield bonus and give more cap and power, in meds we've got a med shield booster II and depending what your fighting a combo of hardeners or a cap booster this also leaves u a med slot for a 10MN ab or whatever u want ... This allows me to have 4 720s and 3 launchers with some left over power and cpu. It isn't perfect but it is a different way of looking at the cyclone as with your cap percentage going up 2% every second I've been able to leave all of my mods on indefinately

I like the shield tanking setup you have, but am curious what you use in the 4th low, damage or tracking? And have you tried it with RCU 2s? Would be curious to hear your response. With the patch this morning, I found I was short on both cpu and grid to power my 5th 720. I overcame the grid by changing out one of my advanced limos launchers for a malkuth (was only .75 short) but haven't yet figured out how to overcome the 14 grid I am short. I ran out of time before work so I had to leave it. I will be able to use RCU 2 in a few days, am likely going to give up a tracking enhancer to be able to put it on. Unfortunately, that is likely to give me a lot more power than I need, and that doesn't necessarily translate into grid. (Yes, I know could use an RCU 1 now, but like I said, I ran out of time and didn't get a chance to make sure that would be enough) |
