I think CCP will revamp another ship like the scorpion, maybe even two if we are lucky.
They might expand wormholes.
They might revamp POSs to make them look like stations and not like a stick and a bubble.
They might boost Gallente.
They might, if we are really lucky, fix lots of bugs, including the horrendous lag.
What do you all think?
Kudos to whoever guesses right.

Lag will get worse, having more than 50 in a fleet will make nodes crash.
no more models but an extra feature that is unbalanced and broken to the point no one can use it, PI will still be RSI inducing and rockets will still be useless. _______________________________________________ Regards Davo |

Optimistically,
Low sec buff, FW revamp, WH expansion, new S&I interface, EAS buff, gallente buff, exploration buff, legion PVP buff, dram nerf.
Realistically,
New Imicus model |

Minerals will appear out from tin air since CCP killed the mining profession and it's the only way to get rid of macro's.

get ready kids for fleet caps.
yes, that's right. CCP is a bit heavy handed when "fixing" things so what better way to fix LAG than to cap the number of ships you can have in battle.

You don't get it. Offcourse there will be more lag. It's CCP way for fighting blobs. I think target is about 20-30 players per grid cap, and they may archieve that just in next expansion. Except for Jita. Jita will become only system in EVE capable of handling more players, and because of this it will become fighting arena for biggest aliances and the only place where fleet fights occur. Additional benefit for players - no more flying around null sec in precious ship to get to another fleet op 30 jumps away from previous one.

So FCs will just bring two fleets?
Big new feature of the next expansion will be an upgraded new Avatar generation process. It will be sold as the first part of WiS, something that the player base have been clamouring for for years and a framework to build on, like all new features seem to be.
The fanbois will \o/, everyone will regen their Avatars, and 5 minutes later forget all about the expansion, as there will be, no doubt, teasers as to the next gret big thing we can look forward to not getting.
Rockets, Gallente recons and CS will still be broken... ------------------------------------

Edited by: iP0D on 20/06/2010 11:17:24 I think the next Expansion will be called "Iterations".
It will tackle a shortlist of micro level feature additions, tweaks & changes provided by the CSM, having gone over and made inventory of Player submitted topics in the Assembly Hall and matching these with prioritisation for the Backlog. This will focus primarily on long standing issues that serve as elements to which players generally shout "omg broken go fix" but this time in a format which CCP can readily digest and tackle in their development doctrine and systems. Many of these things will be related to longstanding UI, workflow and complexity issues, addressing these to make New Eden a better place for all.
It will not be able to address larger issues, missing content annex features, or many of the bottlenecks that taint the experiences players have in their immersion in the various niche markets of EVE, but there will be a selection of feature additions that provide stronger foundations (through corification) for addressing such issues one at a time in later expansions without being subject to reinventing the wheel. While a little unfortunate, it is still something structurally beneficial to the product in light of the format switch by CCP from mythical small yet unrealistic expansions twice a year to one content expansion and one maintenance expansion every year in light of the "EVE Forever" ecosystem context.
It will not contain any "shiny", except for a few community inspired tweaks to Assault Frigates and the newly introduced ability of producing Kitchen Equipment in Planetary Interaction to attract larger groups of female subscribers, but the Expansion will be timed to coincide with the delivery of cluster architectural upgrades aimed to deliver a solid renewed capacity for EVE to operate on higher levels of performance in line with both subscriber growth and subscriber behavioral patterns.
All in all, it will be an Expansion that does a little (late) Spring Cleaning, focused maintenance and streamlining, combined with a strong emphasis on enhancing the general performance capabilities of EVE, while providing a number of foundation elements for followup maintenance over time. Thus showing both an understanding of and commitment to the various subscriber niches of New Eden, resulting once again in subscribers exploding in their belief of EVE as "awesomesauce" across a wide variety of social networks and face to face contacts.
Etcetera.
Yeah.

Next expansion is likely a ramp-up to Incarna, bringing in the groundwork for it and maybe a few other low level features related to it, and another couple of things to pad things out. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
