Well from the very limited intel one could get who wasn't part of a large 0.0 alliance, with or againts Reikoku, I've gotten a pretty good review about them. And they usually emphasized quality over quantity. Excuse me for my ignorance as I've never really lived in 0.0 space.

Indeed I am, unfortunately Reikoku has a CAOD chat ban in place so it's not like i'll be getting any direct suggestions from them (making this all the more harder for me).

Baby steps my dear,..
First you need to join a FW alliance such as PL, however if you dont enjoy exploiting or cheating you may not fit in,..
IT dont do open recruitment, however the following alliances allow anyone in, Defi4nt, Wildy Inappropiate, Mostly Harmless, OWN Alliance and Get Off My Lawn,..
These alliances are known to give roles too after a week or two of mining / hauling so make sure you have a bestower than can use T2 cargohold expanders but T1 will be fine,..
Once you have the ability to steal 50 billion (easily achieved with WI[dot]) do so and make a thread,..
After you have done all of this you probably wont still get in IT but you will have more ISK than the whole NC combined,..
Good luck,..

Unfortunately I don't enjoy cheating or stealing. I'm a man that upholds certain principles, and those include honorable combat, no stealing, and to a lesser degree; giving quarter to anyone retreating from the battlefield (unless I am ordered otherwise) chain of command > giving quarter.
As far as being some corps/alliances personal UPS delivery boy, I'm training exclusively for carrier based skills / maxed out tanking / maxed out drone / maxed out leadership and everything else I won't bother to list. So that's in direct conflict with my training schedule.

This... was the kind of honest no BS answer I was looking for. I'm just trying to validate my fears which are; unless I fly with them as an ally of another corp and they see potential in me, I'll never be noticed and get those referrals I need (or considered for that matter).
The challenge is accepted.
EDIT: TBH One of the reasons I want to join Reikoku first is so I can say that Reikoku was the first corp I joined (on that character at least). Bragging rights + 10

In all honesty Scout, you shouldn't feel like you need to focus on just one corp or alliance. Jump into 0.0!! It is a different EvE there. Whether you choose the NC or SC or one of the various other 0.0 groups, you'll enjoy the gameplay.
However, on a side note: If you move into 0.0 for the warfare, don't just go into 0.0 and carebear. Yea the complexes, roids, missions, and whatever else are better than Empire, but you will not get the most out of 0.0 unless you join in the fights. When your corp, alliance, coalition start fleets get in on them. Fly Safe...

This is no troll, seriously, why is it such a crime to have a corp you've always wanted to join? I mean coming from an empiredweller, I've always been so interested in the politics and the great fleet battles in 0.0. I've played space games like Nexus the Jupiter Incident where there would be epic battles but that still wasn't enough for me. Hearing about these grandiose battles that crammed like 1500 people in a system was mindblowing for me, I just want to be part of that. And even if Reikoku fell from power and became some two-bit merc corp i would still want to join simply because of their rich history leadership and initiative. It's like people who play those arcade version street fighter / marvel vs capcom or what have you games, they certainly aren't the most appealing games considering they're 2D, but people still love/play them, not because they are considered the best game but because of the rich history the game has.
Oh and to Czeris who made that duplicate "Long time Wildly Inappropriate fanboy" thread : I ain't even mad yo.

Steps to joining Reikoku:
1.) Get a Fur Suit 2.) If you are still interested in number 2 after reading number 1, you should probably reevaluate your life. 3.) See 2.

Originally by: Scout VI Edited by: Scout VI on 21/06/2010 00:43:24 Edited by: Scout VI on 20/06/2010 23:26:51 Just for starters I'd like to point out that I'm posting this with my alt to avoid deadly flames.
I've played EVE online since early 05', it's been a great run, and I've spent my entire EVE life in empire and in lowsec. No more however, It's time I go into the great black yonder that is 0.0. Since I started reading up on all the large alliances in late 05' I've taken quite a liking to Reikoku for always emphasizing quality over quantity. I've compiled so much data on them and yet it means nothing in the long run I suppose. I created a main character to become specialized in cap ships, specifically, Gallente carriers. With that said in mind, my end game goal is to become one of the privileged few to fly a super carrier. He's quite a ways away, just finished maxing out my learning skills and the +5 implants to make training a bit faster. Anyways, here's my predicament: I want my main to join Reikoku, and at the same time I'm going to keep said main character in the newbie corp (until I join Reikoku of course). The problem is, to join I'd need referrals from 2 full time members. How could I achieve such a thing? I mean, I could just wait until they have open recruitment, but I haven't seen an open recruitment policy since BOB got disbanded and their personnel count dropped almost as fast as BP's stock. What do?
inb4 fly into Reikoku held space in a noob ship and make some Reikoku friends.
tl;dr I like Reikoku, I want to join, but unless there is an open recruitment policy (unlikely), it would be very difficult given my situation.
Please be gentle with me :3
The rumors of bob's death are greatly exaggerated. Also, getout.
